Crab cakes:yummy: No, I'm not making them from scratch. I stopped by the local fish vendor who sets up in the parking lot at the small market and picked up a package of crab cakes and a single salmon steak portion (all the fish are portioned out pretty much single-serving size). I had the salmon yesterday:yummy:

I've been eating pulled pork leftovers all week, and will again tonight. I'm thinking of green beans and new potatoes for a side dish, or may pull something out of the freezer that I can just heat-and-eat for sides.

I did make some flaky buttermilk biscuits yesterday morning so I'll have one or two of those too tonight, split and toasted.

Fruit, milk, and the most glorious eggs for lunch, and even though it's not my favorite, we have some really nice cheese stuffed pasta and bread that's kind of begging to be next in line for dinner!

if you're lazy like me, stuff tends to get lost at the bottom and when you clean it out, you find a frozen pizza with "Best if used before the Spanish American War" on the box.
:flail::lolup: Gotcha. I have that problem, too! I'll have to watch out for that, but it does beat having piles of frozen bags of spaghetti slide out on you every time you open the freezer compartment door!

If you're placing it inside, this doesn't matter,
Oh, it will be inside, for sure. I live in an apartment in a very economically depressed town. A freezer on the back porch would be an invitation to robbery!

As for tonight, I'm thinking breakfast. Scrambled eggs and biscuits.

Those types of biscuits are SO DARNED GOOD toasted (I toast in the oven), with butter, honey, and a bit of salt.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 -- there are usually good sales on freezers around holidays, like Memorial Day and Independence Day, etc.

i'll microwave two hot dogs (no buns), some potato salad (lots of extra veggies added!), and a slice of cinnamon-sugar cake for dessert. :yummy:

This is true, micknsnicks2mom micknsnicks2mom , I'll be keeping my eye out, although Walmart does sell one at a very reasonable daily price, I think about $170. That would be doable with a couple of months to save.

I dunno about tonight. I was going to order a pizza for a change, but after running down my bank balance, I realized that I actually have enough left in there to order the second end table for my living room, but not enough for both. LOL, I'd rather have the end table than the pizza right now. SO...what for supper? Um...fried egg sandwich? OH OH OH! I have a can of Goya black beans and rice! THAT'S what I'm having!

I made a rotisserie-style chicken yesterday. We were just going to have a chopped salad, but then Rick asked for some macaroni salad. And I made a pan of brownies for a bit of dessert.

Today, it will be leftover chicken turned into a bit of chicken salad on 100-calorie buns. There are still a couple slices of cheeseburger pizza left from Friday, too, so Rick can have those if he doesn't want the chicken.

Yeesh so I'm a total foodie and love food and all things food and practically make part of my living by testing food and then making it, but can anyone explain WHY my appetite has been utter crap? My health is fine, I'm not depressed but food just doesn't always sound good like it used to anymore =(
I'm thinking of slamming together some flour, cheese, paprika and other goodies to make our favorite home made cheese crackers for everyone, it's time intensive, labor intensive, makes my personal kitchen a royal mess but I do like them, and everyone else does too...maybe this will get me back.
Blah. Maybe I've just got the blahs..

But...but...HOW DO YOU KEEP THE CHEESE AND ONIONS ON 'EM?????

Seasonal changes do that to me, generally from cold to warm, and again warm to cold.

Tonight, spaghetti, just for the ease. When I finish up here, I have to go put another end table together, it came this morning. STILL waiting on that lamp shade!

My appetite is seasonal too....much more variable with the summer heat, and they're saying we may hit our first 100 degree day this weekend. Makes me not want to spend so much time over the stove. Winter time, I could stand by a warm oven and cook (and eat) all day long.

Shoutout to LTS3 LTS3 , who posted a link to a honey lemon chicken thigh recipe a few weeks ago that I bookmarked.

Today I stopped after work and picked up chicken thighs and made a different recipe from that same website "Asian Glazed Chicken". I did cook on top of the stove in cast iron, not in a slow cooker, but this sauce is really outstanding.

Tomorrow I'll pick up veggies for the week and stir-fry some broccoli to go with the leftover chicken/rice. I had a happy bonus...lots of extra sauce!

Tonight just a chicken thigh and sauce over lemon-ginger rice:

Recipe I used for sauce: Slow Cooker Asian Glazed Chicken - Cafe Delites

Thanks again, LTS3! I'll definitely be trying more recipe ideas from that site.

I had a funny episode about 10 years ago where I would have about 3 meals in the span of 5 hours because it was SO cold and SO snowy and I needed it...dinner time was from whenever I felt like til bed time...full meals. I'm so weird =D
It's getting warmer here and that's usually a factor. I'm glad I'm not alone!
I decided today to have 3 VERY small meals vs. one or two large ones today. Meal #3 was more than I could take in but I didn't feel exhausted. I'm used to one good meal a day, sometimes two, sometimes a good meal and a snack and I know this is doing me no favors.
Habits = hard to break.
