He did it!
We are pleased to present IW RW SGCA Riterags Lexus!

Our precious baby boy claimed our hearts from day one. He has grown into a beautiful, gentle Ragdoll who melts your soul with his huge blue eyes. At 14 months old, he has exceeded anything we could have imagined as a TICA show kitty, and he has opened so many doors for us. We have made amazing new friends, traveled to new places across the US, and competed with the top cats in the world. We are so grateful for all of the guidance, love, and support from so many while we learned and grew with our little super star. We love him to the moon and back. Congratulations Lexus...we are so proud of our Supreme Grand Champion, International Winner, Regional Winner, and Second best Ragdoll in the World, and Top Altered Ragdoll in the US! He is also the first ever Cream Lynx Bicolor to become an International Winner!

MsKatieB MsKatieB - For everything that you - and Lexus - were put through during the CFA shows, this is one of the greatest knockout punches of all time. "IW." I know breeders who've been chasing that star for forty-five years. You're to be congratulated, not only for your tenacity and your outright refusal to give up, but for catching that star. Bravo!

Thank you so much for your kind words. Lexus worked very hard, and he is amazing. The TICA judges saw the same qualities in Lexus that the CFA judges did. I am very grateful for the IW. He is ranked number 16 in the World....an award of a lifetime for our sweet boy!

It sounds to me from reading Lexus's story that the majority of CFA people who encountered Lexus were supportive and happy to see him being shown, and disappointed to see him disqualified. The Ragdoll registration rules are determined by the Ragdoll breed council, not by CFA as a whole. In some breeds, CFA rules are more restrictive than TICA rules, but in other breeds TICA is more restrictive; it is all up to the individual breed council. In any case, it's wonderful that Lexus's story was able to continue in TICA so successfully!

Since the days of the 'Siamese Wars' in the early 1960s, it's been suggested many times that CFA members who are currently showing and/or breeding should be ineligible to serve on Breed Councils. Just sayin'.

On the other hand we also hear complaints by people who are irritated by old-timers on the breed council and want the breed councils to consist ONLY of people who are currently showing and/or breeding! I personally like to see a mix of people on our breed council, some old-timers and some newer people.

I was happy to be what little help i couldoffer.
You don't understand...nobody would help us! It's like a secret code! I have passed on what I've learned to many newbies. Now folks bend over backwards to help....but not at first! I guess you have to earn their respect, or something. Still learning!

You're right! I understand rules, and respect them. I would share my insights with CFA on any level....but not one person has replied to help!

If I may offer a thought (not like you don't know) - but it isn't just the cat world that's like this.
However, people like all of you-all on this thread are pretty darn incredible and generous people, and without fail want to positively further the breed you are personally involved with, as well as the species as a whole.
Major kudos to all of you!

If I can comment on the breed councils. I belong to the Persian breed council and if any of the others is like mine, they are afraid of change. I do agree that the people on the council be people who show since it IS for show the standard is written. The members also need to be familiar with the breed. I disagree with the Persian breed councils stance on some issues which is why I make sure I vote on every ballot. I feel that if you aren't moving forward, you are moving backwards! The CFA as a whole is very slow to change - but I have seen some moving forward with the acceptance of Bengals for championship. Sometimes it takes years to get something done, and most people get discouraged and quit.

As for grooming advice - I am always happy to help anyone if I can. That is the only way the cat fancy will grow is if we are welcoming and helpful.

I know this may be an odd question, but I assume many of you are involved in showing. Is it possible I may have run into some of you, or maybe you have seen Lexus at a show?
