This food (made in the USA also known as K/D) was prescribed for my 16 years old female cat Cucumella when she was diagnosed with a renal problem. After consulting a second veterinarian it resultded that what she had was cancer in one of her lungs. I have 6 tins of this food good until january 2019 and wonder if I can offer it to my 4 years old female cat or whether it is meant only for cats with renal problems.

I wouldn’t give it to your other cat. Renal diets are very low in phosphorus and protein. These are two nutrients that cats absolutely need. I suppose it wouldn’t be too harmful in small amounts but personally I wouldn’t feed it.

I agree with Azazel. Younger cats need the higher phosphorus levels of maintenance food. It probably wouldn't hurt if you rotated one can in out of several regular cans of food. Or maybe donate it to a rescue or shelter.
