I am glad I found this thread. My four loved all sorts of the FF pate. I fed them varied food through the week so not to bore them. Then it started narrowing, finally to one, chicken. Then not even that. And just after I had ordered several new cases of it. They are now on Friskies. Believe me, I have tried so many other foods, I am just glad they eat Friskies. I have FF now to give to our no-kill shelter. I have tried it after a month off, thinking they would go back to it, but only turkey and giblets and beef. So, I will try to keep up that rotation and give away all the FF chicken I have.

Problems with Purina Fancy Feast??
Do you feed your cat Fancy Feast?
Have they recently started refusing it?

I have been feeding our baby FF for years, in fact she will only eat Grilled Turkey in gravy.
However she is now outright refusing the product. At first Purina denied changing the formulation,
but yesterday they admitted to me that there had been a 'realignment' of ingredients. Whatever that means.
We all know how sensitive cats are when there is something wrong with their food and this gives me some concern.
Is the product just suddenly unpalatable, or is there something to be concerned about here.
We all know the problems when your mainstay food for your baby is suddenly not available to you.
This is bad enough, but I'm worried that this change is in fact harmful in any way.
The change seems to have come about during the production of Fancy Feast with a best before date of 2019 onward.....
I know of no recall situation, please feel free to contact me if you doubt the authenticity of this.
If your cat has suddenly been refusing this product, I would advise you to contact Purina. Contact details on their web site.
Please delete if not allowed.
I have 2 cats that are sisters 2 years of age.I purchased a case of FF pate Turkey & Giblets food from Chewy. They both backed away from their food. They have never done this. It is one of their favorite flavors. There is something wrong with this food. I googled information to see if anyone else had problems with Fancy Feast. There were quite a few complaints that appeared in my search. The compaints were on a Consumer Affairs site. I contacted Chewy who refunded my money. It was not Chewy'a fault of course. The food had a 2020 date and was made in St.Louis, MO.Now I have to try to find a safe food for my girls. Thank Goodness my kids refused the food.

If you have cats that are finicky try Purina Muse or Purina One True Instinct - I had some weight loss going on with my guy after refusing FF, and we finally got this going for him, along with some Tikicat and some Merrick Backcountry.

I’m not convinced that it’s unsafe. Well no more unsafe than it ever has been. The problem is that they have changed the formula and it smells different. Most won’t even taste it.
Purina have made the mistake of trying to make improvements (actually probably trying to save money) instead of delivering a consistent and reliable product.
Cats of all creatures resist change and if their food smells different, they will refuse it.
I have written to the CEO of Purina
as well as contacted the customer service dept. many many times.
I would urge anyone who has had this problem to contact a supervisor at Purina and voice your complaint.
The number is 1855-744-1216.
My cat will not eat any othe canned food and she has IBD, so a completely dry diet is not good.

FF gravy lovers is the only wet Gypsy will eat. For awhile she refused the whitefish and tuna but began eating it again. I have noticed many stores cutting back on the different flavors they carried. Now I'm noticing Purina has come out with many flavors named "with gravy" instead of 'gravy lovers', of course there is less gravy in them. She won't eat baby food so I can't even come up with gravy to add

The FF w/cheese has been a primary favourite to both our cats for years, but they’ve recently been totally snubbing it. Previously devoured bowl now sit uneaten. There’s also a visually notable change in the food’s composition. Chunkier with less cheese/gravy.

Also liked the ‘gravy lovers’ line, but not so much the ‘w/gravy’ line.

Having just lost a relatively young cat to a sudden and aggressive cancer, we’re giving a hard look at the food we provide. FF is pretty much McDonalds for cats, but they liked it, and we pair it with a very healthy dry food.

Unfortunately, my trust in Purina has diminished, which ensures it’s discontinuation in our home.

My cats won't eat any of the flavors with cheese anymore either. But now that they are older, they won't eat cheese or milk. Did you try some of the flavors without cheese? I would say it's more like diner food than McDonalds. It's not greasy or fried. It's like one of those shredded beef/chicken sandwiches with gravy that you get at a diner. :)

~ I thought I was over feeding but now I too think there is something going on with Purina wet food formulas . Their dry food has actually improved - but old favorites like Friskies Mixed Grill and Poultry Platter are not appealing to my cats like before. This week I gave them 9 Lives Pate - see what happens with this brand . :dunno:

….sounds like maybe they've made yet another recipe formula change? The revision wouldn't necessarily be reflected on the ingredient list on the packaging as it could be something like a change to a pre-mix that's sourced from outside the main manufacturing plant, plus as I understand it they're not required to update labels for six months or something like that...

I don't feed FF often, but recently I did notice a change. It is stinkier and the consistency of it as a bit harder. Fortunately, my cat still eats it when I give it to him.

Yes, Problem with Fancy Feast Grilled Chicken, Salmon and Tuna. I have a Siamese and 2 Orientals who until recently loved these but since the gravy turned orange and the solids became larger, they sniff and walk away. Which makes me not trust the brand any more. What ever happened to if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I've switched over to Purina One canned and my girl loves it more than she ever loved the Fancy Feast. Go figure.

Fancy Feast food gives my Ragdolls diarrhea like pancake batter.
