I found an interesting article on why women who love cats are seen as "crazy" by some people.

Claws out! Why pop culture clings to the crazy cat lady

I loved the story about the lady who trained her cat to steal jewelry for her. If only you really could teach a cat to do that. All mine ever bring home or dead mice or lizards.

Nice to see some glamorous cat lovers mentioned there too.

So what do you think, is the crazy cat lady a myth? Is it time we changed the image of cat lovers?

No, I am actually the sterotypical "permanent bachelorette with a buttload of cats", lol. Sorry, not sorry! But I'm not glamorous or fashionable at all. So I won't be the one to change the stereotype, maybe the younger generation will take care of that ;).

Why is it the ailurophiles who are picked on? A couple I know are currently looking for a house to rent or buy that's big enough for their ten medium-sized dogs. A woman I work with needs a bigger SUV to transport her seven dogs (ranging in size from 15 to 110 lbs.).

I've seen bunny, rat and guinea pig hoarders, some of them male, but it's the "crazy cat ladies" who make the news.
