@kat0121 Thanks for sharing that great PAWSitive story -- what a beautiful little family!
@jcat Those are two of my favorites. It's great to know that there are some fellow international film lovers here on TCS! They really are (mostly) better than the domestic dreck that's churned out with nauseating frequency (and I can't help thinking what more PAWSitive uses all that money could be put to than being used to regurgitate cartoons and franchises! *sigh*)
It's going to be hot today, so we're taking refuge in our cool home and I'm working away as usual, tortleshell laptop warming (!) us both.

My hair is a dark magenta colour at the moment. Not natural looking at all, but the bright colours cheer me up.
Great color choice!

I used to have mine in the shade Vampire Red, from Manic Panic. I miss it every single day, but I have to admit that it is nice having a shower and not looking like I am covered in blood! :D

"Productive," sums up the day here - always a good thing as the season wears on. One large bed enclosing a monumental Forsythia has been long-neglected, and is finally sharpened at the edges and freshly mulched... a big jump on the season. One down, and only 116 to go!

*Productive* is one of my all-time favorite words/states of being. Sounds like you're going to be that way for a long, long time, too.

This story came up on my Twitter a little while ago. I love it. Rescues can happen anywhere. :yess:

Father And Son Camping Trip Turns Into A Rescue
I consider that to be an Awesome Pawsitive :) Mommy is a wonderful kitty. Wishing all the best to her, the kittens and the wonderful people that rescued them.

I got a big step closer to finishing the stained cat perch I am working on. Today I managed to get the time to cut the 2x4s and 2x6 that I had already sanded and stained. A four and a half foot tall, 3 level perch with the angled wood like the little table I made. I found out on Saturday that my co-worker's mother in-law's cat has cancer. I know her a little bit as I have been at her home a handful of times to fix her computer, email, etc. I was at her place on Saturday, I know it is going to crush her as she has two beautiful girls and loves them like children. The new perch will most definitely go to her place as my cats have plenty and I was planning to give it away. She has nothing like it and I am sure her girls will love it. I will try to get it assembled tomorrow and take a photo to post.

So one of the attachments that came in the five pack I ordered Lelia for her birthday is called 'fur fun'. I call it the squirrel tail because it looks most like that. Lelia seems excited to catch it so far, but isn't sure what to do with it when she does, so she sort of does everything. First she starts grooming it like it's a kitten, them biting at it, then bunny kicking (even though it's not really long enough for it and she almost never uses her kickaroo) and then back to licking until I can tug it away for more chasing.

It's incredibly amusing.

The Cubs home opener was postponed until tomorrow due to snow. So instead of watching the game on tv I did some serious house cleaning. Carleton took a cat nap and kept me company most of the afternoon. :sleepycat:

neely neely - I didn't know you were an Orphans Cubbies fan! I hear they let Frank Chance go, eh? Kinda like Boston and The Bambino. "These are the saddest of possible words...."

;)

A beautiful evening here, almost windless for a change, although clouds are moving in, obscuring the stars at the moment. Some unseen force has imbued the cats with energy tonight; everyone's running through the house, as though they were a pack of wild Snowshoes. Everyone should have eleven cats to entertain them!

I've tried some of the Manic Panic colours, they have some really nice ones and I love the fact that their products are all cruelty free.

:goldstar:

Directions do some good colours too. Rose Red and Dark Tulip are two of my favourites. The Stargazer ones are pretty good. Not as vibrant as Directions, but they last well and don't stain the bathroom as much.

Loyal to the core - I grew up in a family where both my parents loved the Cubbies. My first two words as a baby were probably "Ernie Banks." I think Frank Chance was just a tad before my time.

So for my pawsitive news, the sun is shining for today's Cubs home opener which had to be postponed from yesterday due to snow. :sunshine:

Shane Kent Shane Kent , how wonderful the cat perch you are constructing will be for the kitty who is not feeling well.

The snow and ice seem to have left the sidewalks on my street and I do see many walkers enjoying the walks, even though it is a little chilly here. It is a nice even surface, now since the road project has been completed and it makes walking even more enjoyable. Hopefully, as the warm weather comes, Speedy and I will enjoy our wonderful Summer strolls together. Maybe we will walk to the farm this year for the first time, to see the cows in the field.

Lari Lari , I am glad Lelia is still celebrating her Birthday with her new toys. Speedy has two of these attachments and she is crazy about them, too.

I wish everyone a wonderful day, always so positive for me to hear from my Friends here.

neely neely - Banks was every bit as good a shortstop as Joe Tinker in Frank Chance's era - and maybe as good a first baseman as Frank Chance himself according to the record books. I recall Dad laughing about Leo Durocher trying to take Banks out when he fell into a summer slump in the early sixties, and saying that forty thousand fans would be listening to the game on the radio, but would never show up at the Friendly Confines if Banks was pulled from the lineup.

It's almost baseball weather here today, with temperatures rising to near fifty. One more day to clean up the front beds before the rain pays us a visit, so it's time to make hay!

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 thanks for the support and good luck wishes on my hair conundrum! I think I found something that might work. I'll try it this weekend. I bet your magenta hair is very pretty Norachan Norachan - having a color that makes you feel cheerful really does make all the difference!

Ever have one of those days where you're moving at about 2 times your normal speed, just getting stuff done left and right? Well, that's what this morning has been like so far! I won't make a tedious list of all the tasks I completed, but suffice it to say I'm ahead of schedule on my daily and weekly chores, leaving more time to do the fun stuff...like playing with the cats until they're tired, going on a long walk with my dog, or checking my favorite cat site. And all before work!

It's a great day here as we wait for a bit of snow? rain? no bike ride today-the winds blowing NE and it's like ice. Did my indoor weights workout and almost burned as much calories but still felt good to do the stuff I did a year ago.
Last night I finally got some sleep- laid down to read DragonFly In Amber by D Gabaldon and fell asleep before the sun set..6? Woke up bright eyed bushy tailed at 3:45am and been going nonstop since. That is a positive! I love getting a good night's sleep-not sure if Bee Kitty graced me with her presence but she was waiting at 4am for her morning tuna...usually I have to go wake her up but she's getting used to the early hour. Then she curls up with her daddy to sleep a few more hours...lucky girl. Pumps sleeps on her big cushion on the floor in the library infront of the heater vent..spoiled cats!

Hi everyone!
Speaking of baseball, the Rockies are obviously going to have yet another season of us fans trying our darndest to figure out what Dick Monfort, the owner is thinking, BUT although he simply can NOT understand that pitching matters, he actually did open his pocketbook and after waving away the moths that flew out of it, --we're keeping Charlie Blackmon woo-hoo!!!

I was just sure the asparagus I planted last season would disappoint and not come up this year, but there they are, little nubbins and stalks (some not so little ) looking at me this morning as if to say, "what were you so worried about?" LOL

I was awakened in the middle of the night to some major thumping and bumping going on - apparently the Big Guy lost one of his mousies under the treadmill :kitty: I love it when he gets crazy - he's doing ok for a 13 year old feline!!

foxxycat foxxycat - It was another normal day here weather-wise as well. It reached up into the mid forties, and just as I finished mulching the big bed around the Butternut, a few snowflakes began falling. I looked at the hellebores growing in the bed beside the guest house, and sure enough - there they were, as they'd earlier been. Bees. Flitting from flower to flower. While it snowed.

I'd never seen honeybees pollinating in the snow before, but checking the internet, I guess it's a pretty common sight.

Won't look at the forecast any more. Probably Oobleck tomorrow. With bees.

Hello yet again - I'm being VERY positive lately :D
No bees yet, no hummingbirds yet, however I got to see another flock of 30 or so Sandhill Cranes headed north :yess: and East Denver has paper wasps and a LOT of ladybugs this year, and a couple of what I assume were moth type critters (as opposed to actual butterflies), and a few grasshoppers. :daisy:

Two levels done, I might leave it at two levels as I am not sure if I should make it higher. It is at 3 feet.

2 Levels Done Not Finished.jpg

I think I will run carpet up the center leg so they have something to help climb the levels. The base has no hole in the center but the other two levels do so they can climb up the center leg.

I would like to post a photo or two of her beeeautiful girls, of course I will get her permission.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 - The cat is getting treatment. Regardless, I wanted to cry when she told me on Saturday. She tried to justify spending the money on her cat to me and I cut her off fast, told her I would do exactly the same. I am not sure of the details or the chances of her girl beating it but I hope she beats it down and marches on through life.
