Yes, the kangaroo warming method has many advantages.

Do you happen to have an IR-warming lamp? such as rheumatic persons use? Or persons keeping lizard terraries? Perhaps some neigbour has? Very useful with many weak ones.
Otherwise, you can take common raw rice, put it in a sock, and nuke it in micro 5 minutes. You get a heating pad holding warmth several hours. Wrap this up in a towel of course.

Human baby formula is OK, but as I understand it, its too weak. double this up and it should be even better.

water with regular sugar isnt harmful as such, but it doesnt give the same quick energy boost to a weak kitten. As it must be digested some. While honey water works already in the mouth, glucose sugar doesnt need to be digested and goes straigh into the blood already in mouth and all the intestine systems.

Im happy the little one seems to be better. He perhaps will live after all. :)

Yes, I think momma wanted to squish him. She sensed he was going downhill, so helping him to die quicker, she was very kind sort off...
Some moms take extra care of the weak kitten,
but some not, they abandon or worse. Everything to save them whom are still healthy.

In all such cases its necessary to handraise the weak kitten - and it may often be saved. Not always, and its often a fight uphill. but often enough a dedicated human may win, when the kitten leaved alone would mercilessly perish and die.

So its peculiar, very often its not advanced veterinary help which is decisive and needed, but a dedicated caretaker whom gives her heart and effort.... O Ola1393

I have another question... at three days old and with regular if not snall feedings, shouldnt this kitten have had sone bowel movements by now? I am getting a little worried about him not going poop at all... Can anybody shed a little light on th is topic for me so I at least know whats normal an whats not regarding waste removal of fostered kittens?
Thanking you in advance

You stimulate it? You can add a couple three of coldpressed food oil - olive rapeseed or cocoanut oil. Add into each meal

Is mom caring for him too? She may be taking care of all elimination.

Are you able to keep mom 100% inside and away from intact males now?

Take a wet, warm washcloth or small rag, and rub it all around for at least 30 seconds under his tail, somewhat fast and pressed hard enough to make good contact. If he pees/poops a lot, mama is NOT taking care of him, if he does just a little, she must be. I would lay him in front of her on his back and see if she licks him, that would be the best. I'll pray for that little guy, you are both doing a good job, keep it up! PS look up Hanna Shaw, the Kitten lady, on the internet, she has SO many videos taht show exactly how to care for a kitten, very good!

Im very very sad to report that wr lost little Timmy the night before last. He was only four days old and I was so ib love with him that Ive been crying ever since. I feelt the loss as though he were a human child :(
Then, yesterday, we lost another one.

I can only keep a diligent eye on the four remaining abd hope that they make it. I'm still worried about two of them though they appear to be doing good and mamma appears to be ever diligent with their care...

Still, this process has been heartbreaking beyond anything I could have imagined a.d I have learned sooooooo much about orphan kitten care.
I blame myself for losing Timmy though everyone tells me that I did all I could... I dont feel that way at all and it hurts.

Rhank you all so much for helping try to save his life!! I wish I could have taken all the advice I was given but I was limited in options and there was the difficulty of the entanglement which may have played a factor? Who knows.

The littke girl we lost yesterday had a black discoloration on her tummy which looked rather distended too. I assume that is the result of internal bleeding from the trauma of being all tangled or maybe I cut the cords wrong.

Bless you all for your caring!!!

Mamma is in my room seperate from all cats but her kittens! I have already got a large carrier pen to put her and them in when their older until she finishes nursing so I can take her to be fixed

Timmy was completely separate from the others because she tried to squish him and I didnt want him to be smothered. So I did the stimulating with each feeding. The morning of the day he left he had finally had a really good movement but he had been passing a little and peeing each time prior to that. I had been so excited because I took it as a good sign and that he was finally getting his systems in order. I dibt understand why he died, he was sooooo active all day... I cant keep thinking about it, it hurts too much

Please don't blame yourself, you were there, you tried, that is all that could be asked of you.You gave those precious little ones the most treasured gift of all, the feeling they were loved and wanted. Sometimes no matter what we do, it is not enough. It gives a renewal in the belief that life is precious and oh so fragile, so live life to the best of your capability, and know in your heart that those sweet little babies were in your life for a reason, no matter how short the stay. They will always be tied to your heart, will never be forgotten, to them that brings peace.
My heart goes out to you,I know how much this hurts. Please accept my prayers and my condolences for your pain, time will help to bring you your own peace, and the knowledge you tried so hard and loved them so much will bring you comfort.
RIP little angels. Your time on this earth was so brief, but the love that will hold you securely in a loving heart will follow you for eternity. May your journey to the Rainbow Bridge be swift, may the good Lord greet and bless you, until you meet again!

HELP!!!!!!!

I have another kitten, this one eas fine yestetday...nursing and crawling over the others just like its littermates. This morning, shes hardly moving, lethargic, keeps crying out softly... I tried giving her zone honey and water, she drank about half a syringe with no improvement. What do I do? Ivr been holding her and rubbing gently, trying to stimulate her little body. Shes just starting to open one of her eyes... I want her to live but I dont know what to do... My friend is saying I should remove all the babies now and just put them with mamma when shes gonna nurse. I dont think mamma is trying to kill them off but hubby and friend are blaming her.

Theres no way for me to get this little ine to a vet. Ive been hilding her inside my two gands nestled against my tumny to try and warm her up. Every zo often I tyrn her over to make sure shes warm evenly caise theres a few small cracks in the protective bubble of cupped hands ... Ive been doing this about two hours now. Zhe has settled, stipped crying out all the time. I bekiece shes settled into a deep sleep now and her ears nor feet are cold any longer. Ive hust now placed her with a sibling on either side to keep her warm and I let mom out to roam the house a while in hopes that I can try to take a bao myself while the little one sleeps.

Im so sorry for all my awful typos. Im typing on a tiny keyboard on my phone abd trying to do so at great speeds is making me ever so slightly miss the right key and hit one to the right or the left

For all those who can interpret what appears to be apparently atrocious spelling... I thank you and promise that I can spell. Im just trying to save a kitties life and needing help and advice!!!

While little "Phoenix" sleeps, im going to try to 'catnap' myself as well tho I think ive decided to keep her with me on the bed instead for body warmth in case her litter matrs move and leave her cold and alone.

Please don’t sleep with her! It’s far too easy for her to suffocate while you sleep, despite your best intentions.

Do you have a heat source for the kittens? A heating pad set on low under a blanket or hot water bottle wrapped in a towel?

Also, have you been able to get any formula or honey water in her?

I didnt sleep with her as recommended, I just stayed up and was able to get honey water down. Lisr her anyway. Then today lost anothet one. I was abke to get this last one to drink and all but he was hust too weak and wrbt pretty quickly, didnt cry like Phoenix did. This is ABSOLUTELY BREAKING MY HEART!!! I dont think I mebtiobed before that Calico had a BAD case of the cat flu while she was pregnant. In fact, I had been really scared that we were going to lose her for a couple of daysn I used lavender oil and gave her steamed batgroon treatments to open up her airways so she could breathe better . She pukled thru but just barely in time to dekiver her babies. Do you think that is s probable contributing factor here???

Now we are down to two and tho they look happy and healthy, iI am worried aboutI them.
