Hello! I’m new here so i’m sorry if this is the wrong forum.

I recently adopted my first kitty about a month ago. His name is Benji and he is currently 4months old. I took him to the vet about 3 weeks ago and he was 5.2lbs. I’m assuming since then, he is either 6lbs or close to. He looks like he will be medium/long hair but I don’t know, what do you guys think? He has little long hairs on his paws in between his toes too. Also, I was told he is a siamese mix, but I i’m not sure he is, what breed can he be?

Thanks for the help :)

What an adorable kitty! I’d describe him as a flame point Domestic Longhair. In order for him to be a colorpoint, he would have to have a pointed breed somewhere in his ancestry. I think Javanese would be the closest comparison. Is he very vocal? That’s characteristic of the Siamese family of breeds.

Hello,

Yes he is very vocal! Specially when I’m busy doing stuff around the house and i’m not paying him much attention haha I would think that by 4 months his fur will be longer than it is but I don’t know. He definitevely is not shorthaired.. maybe somewhere between medium to long? He will be 5months in exactly 2 weeks from today!

he looks turkish angora to me.
Hi,

I thought that breed is mainly all white? I forgot to mention that Benji is colorpointed (face, tail, legs are all cream/red) and also has blue/greyish eyes!

I’ve seen a lot flame point ragdolls that share some similarities with Benji too, who knows!

I agree with both abyeb and thefiresidecat - influences of Turkish Angora in the ears and the tail. Siamese in the voice (!!) lol and his points - what a doll!! Angora's are colored nowadays, my Big Guy is a mostly angora mix and he's pure black, but I'm thinking in your case the influence is less than the pointed feline DNA.
I'm so glad he has you :redheartpump:

my mom had a cat that looked like this and we spent a lot of time looking at cat books trying to figure out what she was. lol.
I see!!! I also saw this picture of a siberian cat, i’m so confused !! I’m between balinese, ragdoll, and siberian now, yikes!

i mostly have forest cats, but with them at least coats don't fully come in until they are about 2 years old. medium can turn into longer hair. also you are in a very warm climate. he may never get a winter coat in which is where you'd start to see really long hair. but he's not a forest cat so it may be totally wrong for him lol he is gorgeous btw! lovely lil guy!

definitely not a siberian. face shape is all wrong. I don't think ragdoll either. ragdolls are big substantial cats with thick faces and bodies. really big bone structure. your kitty looks quite dainty.
I guess we’ll never now for sure unless I do a DNA test on him! haha he is kind of heavy though. He was weighting 5.2lbs like 3 weeks ago and he just turned 4months then, i’m assuming he is or close to 6lbs now! He is quite long (his body streched out is about as long as a sleeping pillow) but again this is my first time having a cat so I don’t know what an average 4month kitten looks like in terms of body and weight :/

I’m actually from Puerto Rico, but I don’t live there anymore. I currently live in the U.S Northeast area so its cold here! He is so handsome and mellow!! loves belly rubs, giving kisses, being held like a baby and playing fetch too

he can be large without being big boned. he has a more delicate bone structure. ragdolls are big but they don't look lanky. this is a five month old ragdoll see how he is large but cobby looking anyway. your kitty is lanky looking. delicate bone structure. he's got a lot more of the siamese influence than the forest cat influence.

oh I misunderstood from the little tag under your name :) and dawww. he looks like a gorgeous boy! you should really get him a buddy. two cats are just as easy to take care of as one and as kittens they totally bond.

No worries! And yea I think he might be siamese mix after all! We are thinking of getting a puppy instead of a kitty, so I think that will be good for him :)
