So, I'm sorry if I'm going about this all wrong, but I'm just so befuddled. My roommates have a cat, six year old female, who I normally get along with. She's very friendly, very playful and an all around very sweet cat. For whatever reason, my roommates haven't gone to get her fixed. This wouldn't bother me too bad if she didn't essentially glue herself to me and my things. Back when I kept my room accessible at all times she would come in a pee on my things. Now it gets to the point where, during her heat, she wants nothing to do with her actual owners and goes absolutely nuts around me. Best example is this afternoon. My roommate had been up for a while with the kitty sitting quietly by a corner. The *moment* I get up she goes right to me, meowing at me feet, outside the bathroom door, rubbing all over my feet as I eat, etc. I don't get it! Why wouldn't she do this with the people who own her and who she seems to generally trust more when not in heat???

Hi - my best guess is that there's something about you that smells good.
But, considering that their little brains get a bit unwired when they are in that state, there's no telling.
Is there any way that you can pool ya'lls money and get her spayed?

It's not that I don't want her spayed, but at the end of the day, it boils down down the fact that she's not my cat...thank you for your feedback!

Just let your roommates read the article on spaying and tell them it’s for the good health of their cat and let them take it from there.

hello there! i would definitely convince your roomates to go to the vet and get her fixed, i know that vets can be a bit pricey sometimes, but if you go to the right vet, its worth every penny. peeing on your things is a sign of marking its territory. cats can randomly be attached to someone, i know i might sound crazy but you and the cat might have a deep spiritual connection. cats are known to be attracted to a person picking up by there energy/ vibes.

hope i could help (:

Hello and welcome to The Cat Site. :wave2:

I realize she's not your cat, but she obviously loves you, even if it's just hormone driven.

Have your roommates had her the entire 6 years? Surely they must be getting tired of her continuous heats. Not to mention the poor cat must be so stressed. Do you know if she's ever had kittens?

Either way, if you can help convince her owners to spay her before she gets too much older, I believe it will make for a much more peaceful environment for everyone.
