Ok so I had a lady contact me a little over a week ago about a cat situation. She has a momma cat who sounded feral as she described her, living under her couch with a litter of 4 2 week old kittens. They also have 5 9 month old kittens from her last litter. They all need to go because they are getting kicked out of their apartment. We got to work and found temporary placement for the mom and her young kittens. Well this woman became impossible to get a hold of. Then Thursday (almost a week after I found placement for the mom and 4 young kittens mind you) she messages me and says she got kicked out on Wednesday and all of the cats are there by themselves and she doesn't know what she is going to do and so on. VERY frustrating considering I had already found placement for 5 of them and she couldn't just message me back. So I asked if she could send me her landlords number and I would call and arrange to go get them before they starved/dehydrated. She wanted nothing to do with that. She said she didn't want someone that she didn't know in her apartment with her things while she wasn't there. Listen lady. You have been evicted. You don't have control over that any longer. So then she refused to answer any of my questions the rest of the day Thursday. Then Friday she messaged me and said she was busy. Excuse me, I am trying to save these cats. Then today (Saturday) she messages me and says she is at the apartment and I need to come get the cats right then or they are all going outside. Are you kidding? I messaged another rescue friend so she could come with me, we couldn't make it until 5. The woman said that she would "try to make it work". Listen woman. You better make it work otherwise I cant take them. We went out and got all of them. All are pretty scared and skittish. All of the younger cats are brown tabbies. The young kittens are PRECIOUS. One black, one brown tabby, and two white with brown tabby spots. Did I have room for all of these freaking cats? No. But what could I do? Let her put them all outside? They all are in a crate in my garage until I figure out what is going on. Mom and young babies are going to a temporary foster in the morning. She can only keep them a couple of weeks so I have to figure something else out for them too. Oh Lord.

I know the last thing you needed were more cats, but I'm so glad the woman stuck around till you could get there. Guess you won't have to worrying about getting cats for your next neuter appointment. Good luck with everything.

Mom and babies are settling into their foster home! The 4 9 month old siblings I have set up into two crates that are side by side so they can see/smell/comfort each other. They are pretty scared still.

You may stick that top kitten in an envelope and mail him/her to NC right now. SIGH...if only I could, but my landlady and (far more importantly) Hekitty would both have a HISSY FIT!

So our foster that has Remi and her 5 babies called me tonight. One of them was VERY lethargic. If you remember they have been battling diarrhea and have been on Panacur. She took her to the emergency vet. Vet isn't hopeful for this one, said they did find coccidia in her stool even though we did 2 fecals on Remi that didn't turn up anything, go figure. The foster is freaking out about her cat now and needs me to take Remi and her kittens back. I am not sure where I am going to put them. Sigh. This is just so stressful sometimes. Now I have to call my vet in the morning and try to get albon for the rest of the litter and mom because the emergency vet didn't feel comfortable giving enough for everyone.

The little kitten didnt make it :( The rest of the litter is looking good and super playful, but the foster said it happened really fast for this one. Getting them all started on Albon and a vitamin supplement and also probiotics! Hopefully we caught this all right in time!

Oh, no! I am so sorry.

Rest you gentle, Tiny Spirit, dream you deep. Your little life DID have meaning, your passing is marked, and you are mourned.
