Cat Having Sneeze Attacks Suddenly

So last night out of nowhere my cat had a little sneeze attack, sneezing about 5 times in a row. I didn't think too much of it since this happens occasionally. Then about 20 minutes later it happened again, this time she was making kind of weird nose noises afterwards when cleaning her face. This continued through the whole night, when she was laying on me she was twitching almost like she was trying to hold in sneezes? When I listen to her breathing it doesn't sound congested and her eyes are clear, however she seems a bit more lethargic today. I called to make a vet appointment but the vet I take her to (and the only one within a reasonable distance to me) is booked until next Wednesday so I went ahead and made an appointment for that day. Is that too long to wait? In the mean time I'm cleaning everything thoroughly in case it's allergies, any other advice? Thanks so much in advance!

Hi - regarding waiting, there's no way to know but if the twitching and such continues maybe they can work you in earlier - maybe ask them to consider you if they have a cancellation, or just do a walk-in emergency visit or something, depending on what you see going on or not?
In any case, your vet will determine if it's something more, but if you haven't already you might also consider eliminating the following;

dusty litter
strong perfume
strong smelling dryer sheets, laundry soap
strong smelling shampoo and bath soap
spray cleaners (bath, kitchen, furniture, window)
air fresheners and scented candles

Did you get any new furniture or new carpet, thinking of the fire resistant chemicals? Did you have new paint or any remodeling done that had glue involved?

Hang in there and thanks for being such a caring cat person!
I will add, my Big Guy snorts a fair bit when he's cleaning himself (I think he gets hairs poked up his nose LOL) and he
also sneezes now and then. However in your case it is always wise to get a change in behavior checked out :heartshape:

If her eating, sleeping, elimenation and play patterns change, take her in and insist on being seen on an emergency basis, please. The lethargy is worrisome. How bad is it? Slight, or a real change?

Thank you for the replies! I decided if it had gotten worse by tonight I would try calling the vet again to see if there was any way to get in earlier, however she's doing much better tonight fortunately. I spent the morning deep cleaning my apartment and doing some major dusting, I'm thinking it might have been allergies seeing as how I left the windows open yesterday during some intense wind (here I thought I was doing good by airing out the place). It was worrying me as she was slightly more lethargic after her sneezing spells but now she seems to be her normal self (still a little sneezing though). I think I might keep the vet appointment just to make sure everything else is okay. Thank you again for the replies, I love how knowledgeable and understanding everyone is here :)

Thank you for the kind replies! We just got back from the vet, and I'm definitely glad I kept the appointment because Bella ended up getting worse. She was getting really congested and this morning before we left she sneezed up a little blood. Ended up being an upper respiratory infection and she received some antibiotics, so hopefully she'll start feeling better soon. Again thank you so much for the caring replies :)
