So I'm very mad at my dad! The girls and I were visiting him, and Sheridan went into heat. He got tired of her meowing and put her outside without my knowledge. She was outside for at least 45 minutes before I found her and brought her inside.
It's been about two weeks now, and for the last three days she has been throwing up a small amount once a day. She also doesn't want anyone touching her belly- she used to let me rub her belly- or even pick her up. She's still just as affectionate as usual, but if I touch her belly or try to pick her up she flips out and tries to bite me.
I know it's still early, but do you guys think she might be pregnant?

If a cat in heat is outside at all seh most likely is pregnant. But vomiting is not normal, she might be sick and that is why she doesn't want her stomach touched. Watch her closely and bring her to the vet if things get worse. Did dad feed her something different then her normal diet? That could do it too, or she ate something outside.

If she was outside for that long while in heat, she is probably pregnant, even though it is winter. Male cats are very eager to mate. This article will give you more information: How To Tell If My Cat Is Pregnant?

I understand that this is a lot of information to sort through, so please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any more questions or any problems pop up. It is important to be extra sure that she stays completely inside. You can get her spayed after the kittens are weaned.

I am concerned about the vomiting and the stomach sensativity. She may be sick on top of being pregnant, which would be dangerous for her and the kittens. I would strongly advise you to take her to the vet for a check up. The vet will also be able to provide confirmation if she is for sure pregnant.

Please do keep us updated!

I'm very strict about what my cats eat. I'm the only one allowed to feed them- dad doesn't like cats so he keeps his distance from them.
As for eating something outside, I'm pretty sure that would have upset her stomach in the first couple days after. Not two weeks later.
I'm just really worried about her because of the vomiting and behavior changes. My vet is closed right now- I'm trying to find a vet or pet hospital nearby that is open.

Thank you for the articles! They are very helpful. I'm definitely not okay with spaying during pregnancy, but I was setting aside money each month to get her spayed (the nearest low-cost spay and neuter is across the state) so I already have a good amount of emergency funds set aside.
I'm worried about the vomiting too. I had called the vet when it first happened and she told me to keep an eye on her and bring her in if it got worse. But she's closed on the weekend!

C Crazycatlady1129 She sounds like she could be to me, Bella's first signs was like that, she wouldn't let us near her tummy, and she got sick 3 days in a row, but it only lasted for 3 days. How's she doing now? Has the vommiting stopped/eased up? Is she eating and drinking as normal?

She has stopped vomiting, she is eating and drinking normally. She still won't let me touch her tummy or pick her up, but she has become more affectionate than normal. And that says a lot because she is like uber affectionate normally!

Great , I'm relieved the vommiting stopped, it may have been morning sickness. Guess time will tell, but yes from what I have learned they get very affectionate (above normal)Our Bella is proof of it too lol

I'm thinking she is pregnant cuz I managed to rub her tummy a little and her nipples are starting to extend. And her appetite pretty much doubled overnight. Lol but now she won't let anyone touch her for anymore than a couple minutes at a time! And she is getting cranky with her sisters Serenity and Sabrina when they try to play with her. She'll play for a little bit, but then she gets mad, hisses, scratches and runs away to lick her belly.
