I really like the Dr. Elseys chicken flavor dry food with my cats. I have one female that will only nibble a bit of wet, mostly eats Elseys dry, just as she use to eat evo dry. I think the high protein and very low carbs in the Elseys keeps them happy and healthy.

Its expensive, but free feeding my 4, and the wet meals i feed, i go through a bag about every 5 weeks, so not to bad. The wet foods i feed are low calorie for the most part, weruva, tiki cat, fussie cat, earthborn, nutro. so the cats need the extra calories from the dry. So far i have noting bad to say about the Dr. Elseys dry food

They have already stopped production, sadly. I also called the MARS company and, as the previous person stated, they discontinued due to the high cost of making it.

My husband got to the store and they said they didn't have it...the store was listed on Dr Elsey's site as one that carried the food, so I still have not found it yet!!

i order from chewy, or Dr. Elsey's website. i think on dr. elseys website you get free shipping, and no tax

I liked the Dr. Elsey's, as did my cats, and it worked well for about a month until my IBD kitty started vomiting brown liquid several days in a row. Now I'm trying Wysong EPIGEN 90. It is high protein, grain free, very low carbs, and no starches. So far, so good, but we'll see.

I am happy to find that others are posting potential replacements for EVO so I can investigate them for myself -- there are A LOT of different brands and formulations out there, and it's helpful to find out what's worked for others, so thank you!

I have switched to Natural Balance but not all my cats like it. I just ordered a small bad of Dr. Elsey's chicken.

Well, this is a little off topic, but I frequent pet stores both big and small in my search for great cat food and I never saw Evo anywhere in a store here in the Philadelphia area, so maybe more people would have bought it if it had actually been in stores. I usually don't buy cases online if I can't try out a few cans first, because we all know what happens when we do that!

So I am in the same boat, I have two cats that are thriving on EVO's dry food and I'm slowly running out. This is the only food I have found that does not give them bladder crystals, so I am in search of a food with similar ingredients. As for the comment about having veggies in there as cheap fillers, I think that those veggies are good for the cat, providing antioxidants and just other nutrients, so I am happy that they are in there. I love seeing pumpkin, apples, tomatoes, etc. I think it's great (but that's just my opinion). The two foods that I found with similar protein-levels are Nutro's Wild Frontier Open Valley Chicken and the Crave Chicken...but I'm still not loving the ingredients, or lack-of ingredients, I should say. I called my local Pet People, and they said that they are recommending Farmina as a replacement for EVO. It looks to me like good food, but it's going to be pricey! (www.farmina.com) - I'm interested to hear anyone's thoughts on this food.

I use to feed Evo as well. I like Farmina, but my favorite is Dr. Elseys dry, chicken. I like it even better than i did Evo which i used for years.

I dont know as veggies are cheap filler, some may be used for that. But cats dont need them, and they can contribute to crystal formation as well. I try to stay away from them when possible.

Thank you! If you could only see the mess of paperwork I have in front of me because I'm trying to compare all of the ingredients of all of these different foods. I will definitely keep looking into Dr. Elseys.

I think Crave is really good for its price and availability, but I usually do not give kibble to my cats. It makes them use the litter box too often.

Dr Elsey's look nice but also super expensive. I myself use Petcurean Go! Fit+Free, just to give you another one to check out that's a teensy bit cheaper but still good quality (imo). I mean, if you can afford Dr Elsey's I'd say go for that one though, it looks pretty darn good

The best option is freeze dried raw food and turkey ground meat with added supplements. Less litter box smell and less poop.

I'm just looking to keep them healthy! I will denifitely check it out. I see that they have probiotics in their food, I really like that! Thank you for your help

you might be surprised with Elsey's It is very high protein, and they dont eat as much. so i think it balances out in the long run. I did try petcurean, it seems like a good food, but my guys were not fans. Different cats, different taste buds i guess. Cats...lol, i had to try quite a few dry foods before i could find 1 all 4 cats agreed on. My sons cats did like the Petcurean. so you just never know. Watch Chewy website, sign up for email notifications. They have a really good sale on Dr. elseys a few times a year, usually 39% off. I stock up
