This is the day Charlie followed me home from the laundry room. He’d been keeping me company while I washed clothes. Looking at me with those eyes...

You can see how dirty his little ‘snowshoes’ are and he’s skinny. He never left and I never wanted him to go :redheartpump:

Found out he was found in an empty closet after an eviction. When the workmen opened the door, he ran out and then fell in with a pack of semi ferals out in the field next door. I had seen him around but he was skittish.

Charlie came to me litter trained and sweet as pie! He had to have been a house cat before...his FeLV + status came after our first vet visit. That sealed it! Charlie is mine, all mine!!!

I found Brat as a stray kitten in 1986 in the parking lot of my apartment complex. He crossed the bridge in 2003. I got Tama in 1988 from an ad in the paper giving away kittens. He crossed in 2006. We found Bobcat as a kitten on Christmas day 1996 wet and freezing the middle of our street. She crossed in 2005. We got Tiger from the local shelter in 2007. He latched on to my husband's shirt as he was walking by so we adopted him. He crossed in 2017. JC was a barn cat that my husband found as a kitten while working on a job in 2001. She is still with us. Max was born to a stray cat that had been brought in to our vets office. He was born the day before I had to put Brat to sleep. I saw him at the vets and knew it was fate, Brat was a black cat and Max was the only black cat in his litter, so I knew I had to take him. He is still with us .

Charlie hit the kitty jackpot when he found you in that laundry room! What a fantastic custodian you are for him. I bet he knows it too.

You are wonderful for saving this poor little guy and giving him a forever home. I'd ike to get the a$$whole who left him locked in that closet alone in a dark alley for 5 minutes..:bat::angrywoman::bat::angrywoman::bat::angrywoman::fuming::cloudy:

dustydiamond1 dustydiamond1 I actually asked the apartment complex manager if he had any forwarding info for them. He declined...probably wisely. I also had Charlie scanned. No chip. But now my info is in him!!!

But yeah. Awful to leave a poor animal locked up in a dark box! :censored::fuming:

As you can see from my signature, I have (had) 6 cats so far.
The first one, Kitty, came from a shop, in 1999. She was in the back side of this pet shop. I was buying some food for my gerbil when I heard a meow and I saw two kittens. I asked the shop owner some details about them, then I went home, talked to my wife and went back to the shop to get the little female. It was my birthday! She was killed on the road three months later...
The next two were Lola and Romeo, in 2000, two siblings found under a bush, their mother had left them behind and they were going to die, they were around 10 days old. I reared them, weaned them and kept them both. Romeo was killed on the road 11 months later, Lola left me 10 months ago, a few weeks shy of 17 years of age.
Then arrived Pallina, in 2002, she was a new entry in my feral cats colony, but she was clearly confused and frightened. It was freezing, I took her home for a while, just the time to re-home her... She's still with me.
Tom arrived on his own in 2011, he was a stray. He had wandered for months, he was skinny and sick. In a few weeks he doubled his weight and was a very faithful friend of mine for over 2 years, until he had to surrender to FIP.
I also had Leo, a 2-month very small kitten that I had found in 2014 in my colony. He was sick, he had both his kidneys deformed, his days were numbered. He stayed with me for just a few days, but he gave me a sea of love, so much that sometimes I thought I was going to drown.

I also fostered some other cats for a few days to some months.
Currently I have Bianca, a 4 months kitten with a sick eye. I'm trying to re-home her, but her handicap is keeping people away...
