House is great- almost too warm lol! Water... is not working. And the fuse or whatever for the outlets must have blown again, which isn't a big deal because I am not running the space heaters but now his fridge is off and all the food is warm. I need to call him and tell him about the water and the fuse. We have been bringing jugs of water to fill the water bowls. I am finally starting to see my regular cats! Smokey Joe (gray and white boy who was already neutered when we took him) even let me pet him today while I was scooping out the canned food. Today I saw Mr Fluff, Nemo, Jeeves, Joe, and Olive! The last week I had only been seeing Mr Fluff and Joe so to see more of the others is a huge relief! I was so worried! I haven't seen the calico, Izzy since we released her, but I didn't see her much before lol.

You probably had a burst pipe while the heat was off. I don't know about your place, but here we have an electric heating system that warms up the pipes when the temperature drops below freezing. Have a look around under the sink or under the deck. There might be ice hanging off a pipe somewhere, which means it's burst.

Finally got ahold of Clyde at the hospital, he said his stepson who had gone out to fix the furnace said there was a busted pipe so he shut the water off until he could fix it. So we will just continue to bring jugs of water for now! We will also have to clean out his fridge and throw everything away tomorrow when we go out since it has been off for several days now. I did get some antibiotics to start mixing in with Nemo's food but I have been waiting because I hadn't seen him for a few days which had me REALLY worried since I always see him. But I did see him today. I don't want to start giving it to him and then him not show up one day and him miss a dose... we'll see!

This colony just has really stolen my heart. I want to start trying to downsize it due to Clyde's health and being unsure of what is going to happen to them once he is no longer here. I could squeeze Nemo in here once he is over his URI (I dont have any isolation areas opened up right now) I do have antibiotics to start giving him, I think I am going to this week. I also really think that Smokey Joe is a good candidate for adoption! He has let me pet him the last couple of feedings. Today I stayed and waiting after feeding time to see who I could see because quite frankly I was worried about a few of them. I hadnt seen some of my regulars in over a week. I stayed about an hour. I saw Mr Fluff and Smokey Joe, who I have seen every day. Then I put food down and slowly I saw Nemo and Jeeves come out. Nemo I have only seen glimpses of the last few days, after not seeing him a few days which is worrisome, he has been VERY skittish the last few days. I am not sure what that is about. I almost always see the fluffy gray and white cat with him (the one I am planning to spay this next appointment) until this cold spell I had seen her EVERY day. I have not seen her since the temps dropped, she was the reason really I stayed because I was so worried. Olive came out to eat. Then I saw Izzy, the calico who I Have not seen since her spay, then I saw Rose, the last black and white girl we spayed, who I also have not seen since her spay. Then I saw Benny! The blond medium hair boy we had neutered, I NEVER see him. I didnt see him before we trapped him and I havent seen him since. So I got up because I was going to look under the house, and there she was! The gray and white long haired girl! I am so relieved! I am also so glad to see everyone today! Especially the ones I have not seen since spaying/neutering! So we saw 9 of the cats today and all were spayed/neutered but one! I am not being blind because i know there are several more that need done, but I am so happy to see so many ear tips! And to see all of them made it through the freeze! Supposed to be warmer this week! I hope to see more of them!

You know, if I had the funds, and a space to do it in, and a bit of training by someone, I think what I would love to do with the rest of my life is Feral Rehabilitation. Taking promising (or even unpromising) ferals and teaching them to trust humans and deal with indoor living for the first time. I know it can be done with lots of patience and time. Perhaps even teach others how to do that, have a cadre of Feral Rehab Specialists across the country. Day dreams.

Working with feral cats has just completely changed how I view the world. When I am running errands I am constantly looking for colonies. When it gets cold I am wondering how many cats are outside with no shelters. To see how grateful they are for fresh water and canned food. They didn't ask to be homeless, that is a human's fault. To grow such a bond to a cat that you can't touch is something so special. I LOVE working with pregnant cats which is what we normally deal with, but working with ferals is just so special and I am so glad that I got involved with it.

Happy Day! Ghost was adopted today! Just a reminder, Ghost came from our Park Colony where it we saw him injured and tried for WEEKS to trap him. When we finally got him to the vet they said he had a break in his leg in the past but it healed itself but there was nerve damage and he can't bend his leg at the knee. Since he had a "handicap" he wasn't returned to the colony and stayed with us to get socialized. Now he was adopted! We are so happy for him!

Also (I think this is ok to post here, I will also post it on our SOS thread) we are selling 2018 calendars, the money goes towards our feral cats! If interested we can ship them! You can send me a message on here!

I'm so glad that all of Clyde's Cats showed up!

LOL, I'll take a look at my budget on the 21st, and if there is ANYTHING left, I'll PM you! I would love a calendar!

Heading out in the morning to try to catch the remaining two tuxedo kittens that we were unable to trap before... it is supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow so I am hoping they are out! The feeder said that she has been seeing the mom so maybe we can catch her for a spay! I would have to hold her over the weekend but I have a crate I can use for her.
