Morning!

I have my 9 month old Poppy and 10 week old Milo. I got him at 8.5 weeks and I was told he was ready a week earlier. He and his two siblings were privately "accidentally" bred, and well looked after.

However, he has started latching onto Poppy's fur, simulating feeding from her. He also latches onto my duvet cover and sucks it, whilst kneading. I have a feeling he may have been weaned too early.

What can I do to help him? Poppy puts up with it a bit but shakes him off and I don't want him to feel rejected. He wolfs his normal food down btw.

Thanks.

Give him blankets that are safe for him to knead. There is nothing else you can do but don't worry all my cats did that and all turned out to be happy kitties. Some outgrew it, others did not.

Thank you - I'm a little worried about him thinking Poppy is rejecting him, or her hurting him. I try and move him onto the duvet (which is made out of blanket material as its cold) if I catch him. Lots of wet patches around my bed

What about you put the blanket on your lap, maybe he will start doing it while it's on you instead to do it on your cat. Some people also try to use "catpacifiers".
Catsifier - The Original Cat Pacifier - Because Cats Suck! But don't worry this is not going to affect their relationship.
The only thing I would be careful about it is to note when he is doing it and check that it does not increase. If he does that because he likes it that's fine, but some cats do it out od stress so we want to be sure this is not what is going on

Yeah, he was very young to leave his mom and litter. Kittens should stay with mom until 10-12 weeks at least. They are not “ready” just because they are eating food.

Was his breeder a backyard breeder?

I think he's a happy bunny apart from being removed from parts of the house he's not supposed to be in! It seems to be mainly in the evening/night when he's sleepy. I do remove him when he does it to Poppy (gently!) and he'll then suck the duvet cover.
