On August 31, 2014 I purchased Renato. He was a seal mitted Ragdoll cat. He had beautiful sky blue eyes, soft fur, and stunning seal points. He quickly became leash trained and I took him to the beach and many parks.

On October 13, 2014 I put Renato to sleep. Renato was born with HCM (I did not know until it was too late) and after seeing what it did to my previous cat (again, I did not know Renato was related to him until it was too late), I put him down. :(

I miss you baby boy! I'll never stop loving you. <3 IMG_6801.JPG

Even though you had Renato for a short time in your life I know the bond you had with him was unbreakable. I know how terrible you must feel so I'm sorry that your going through this. I lost my baby on June 10th of this year and there hasn't been a single day since then when I didn't feel as bad as I did the day she passed. But that's just the price we pay for loving our beautiful cats so deeply. However, the upside to that deep love is the wonderful life we gave them. In his short time on earth I'm know that Renato must have been on top of the world. He felt the love you had for him and I'm sure it also showed physically by how well you took care of him. So until the day you two are reunited again just know that Renato was happy to have you in his life just like you were happy to have him.

It is so very hard to release the pain from your heart when you are grieving, especially when it was still broken from a previous love. You could not let your sweet boy suffer, especially from something that has no cure and brings on nothing but further heartache, and you had been through it before and knew what was in the future. Somehow you found the strength to release him from that future full of suffering, but it was at a great cost to your soul. It is certain though that your precious little one would never want you to be so sad. They always want only happiness for us, just as we would want for them if we were the first to go. Yes, you have unimaginable pain from your past, but he also gave you unmeasurable joy. Let that take over and triumph. He was in your life for a reason, he shared your life's path for a short time, it would have been unthinkable to have never known him at all. He needed you. He needed you to be there and to love him, to help him through this life, and you were there. Feel joy that you were able to make him happy for a while, that you gave him love and a home, all he ever wanted.
Yes, it brings pain when we relive all those emotions and feelings from back then, and a lot of times they are impossible to keep from invading our thoughts, especially anniversaries that we would rather forget. But you have to try for his sake, he loves you too much for you to live a life of sadness. Because that is what love is, unselfish and wanting the best for those we love so very much. You have a bond with that boy that nothing can take away. Use it and your precious memories to bring comfort to your troubled soul at times like this.
It helps to share that pain with others, it also helps to help others through that pain that you know so well. Don't be afraid to love again, you have a big heart and a wonderful soul, pass on his legacy of love knowing he will always be there to guide and help you, because love never dies. Take care of yourself, and thank you for letting that beautiful little boy be remembered in this world once more.......RIP dear Renato. Your name means to be 'born again', and you brought love once more into a loving heart. Although your time on this earth was fleeting, you brought a lifetime of joy and love to a heart that will forever hold you secure. Please send what comfort and peace you can to a heart that misses you so very much, Goodnight, sleep tight, little one!

I am so so sorry that you lost your sweet kitty after such a short time, so sad....but he is fine now, no problems, and you will see him again someday when you will have eternity to spend together not 2 months.

Though Renato lived such a short life he had the huge luck to be with you. He knew what being loved feels like and he saw much more world than most kittens and cats see. He was able to smell the sand at the beach, he saw the ocean and dreamed of far away lands beyond the horizon, he saw the seagulls flying over his head and how marvellous the nature can be. He walked in many parks and met people and socialized and made friends.
How many other cats can have so many wonderful experiences in such a short time? Now he's at the rainbow bridge and tells other kitties how amazing the world is, he tells other cats his travels and those who listen to him will be fascinated by this adventurous little guy.
Be proud of what you did, he will always love you for what you gave him .
RIP beautiful Renato!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my baby boy Tiger to HCM two weeks ago. He lived 10 years and suddenly was gone. Vet said it was hereditary and he was likely born with it. I'm so sorry you had to make such a hard decision. He was a beautiful boy.

Every single creature on this Earth is sick. Sometimes vets can heal, sometimes they just cant.

The bad genes (including ones responsible for HCM) are there because they may turn positive at some point in time - believe it or not. There is no bad or good in the mind of Mother Nature. Only, we, humans, think in bad or good terms.

But because we have gifted to feel pain and to remember our beloved, we were also empowered to go ahead despite the horrible feeling of separation from them.

We have nice and fun memories about cats passing through our lives. And these memories may give us the power to take care of other cats.

Head-bow and slow blinking for you and all passed beloved cats who wait in line on the fluffy clouds!
