So my girlfriend isn't home and her cat and I were just hanging out on the bed, eventually her tail was resting on my calf and it started to feel as if it were going numb. Upon further inspection I noticed a clear fluid that seemed to disappear almost as soon as I saw it, I've been living with this cat for the past 6 months and we're friends, is it possible she's mad at me? Or perhaps could she be ill? Is it a sign of affection? Will this dissuade the new cat from befriending me? The two have finally started to get along.. Either way my leg is tingling as I write this so I must shower. I will return anticipating valuable information.

Cats may surely have different fluids - by different reasons, but to my knowledge, none has any numbing or such effect on others, not humans and not other mammals.

Of course you getting her fluid and smells on you can have influence on the other new cat, depending on the fluid - and their relationsship.

She may have marked you as hers, I can't imagine it disappearing that fast though. It must have been a tiny amount to dry that fast, she didn't drool or have wetness on her tail? Did it smell? Inspect her tail and that area for any wounds that may be draining, if not she does not, she most likely marked you as hers, because even if months have gone by she will most likely be nervous about the other cat. Has she been using the litter box? She may be holding it too long because she is afraid of being ambushed, watch for that too.

Are you sure it wasnt just some water she had on her tail? She might have brushed against her water bowl.

I cant think of any clear fluid that would disappear.

And i dont think cats produce any fluids on their tails?

Did it smell?
