I'm honestly just curious. Cinnamon is currently using a mixture of a wood-based litter and a clay-based litter. Being myself, I forgot the names of both:lol:. I am currently looking for a good alternative, though.
The issue with Cinnamon is that she is so young she doesn't know how to bury her waste, plus she is dealing with worms. Odor control is always a bit of an issue, but it doesn't really bother me--its not her fault.
I think this will help some members on the site as well.

What litter(s) do your cats use? Why do you like that litter?

I use two different litters for two different cats. Luna's box in the basement gets the odor control Paws n Claws because its cheap and it works. The odor control isnt the best, but the scented one is better.

I am currently using Ever Clean for Kitty's box upstairs because it clumps really well and smells good out of the box and the odor control is great. I cant smell her box upstairs with that litter. Its expensive tho. Bit the paws n claws is cheap so maybe it balances out

I use Tractor Supply Paws & Claws, BJ's Berkley & Jensen, and Walmart Special Kitty in the 40 Pound boxes. I also tried PetSmart Grreat Choice when they had a sale online and it was really nice.

We currently use Fresh Step multi-cat (or sometimes Scoop Away multi-cat) for both boys. I just buy several 42 lb bags at my local Petsmart at a time. I use a large 30 gal sterilite tote as a litter box so it takes 40+ lbs of litter to fill to the ideal depth. One of my cats digs to China and the other backs up and pees in a corner of the box. In the same spot every time! Anyway, I'm happy with the litter. It clumps very well, it's not too dusty, it smells nice but not overpowering, and covers odors well. As a side note- I do clean the box after each use unless I'm not home at the moment. Because it clumps so well I don't normally do full changes often, maybe just once a month. And about every 6 months I just get a new tote.

Fresh Step Extreme and Tidy Cats. I have a bucket of Petco's So Phresh but have not tried it yet.

I don't like clay litter so I use World's Best. I've used it for years and have never had an issue with it. I think it masks odors relatively well and, while it does track a little bit, it isn't dusty when my boy digs.

I use clay litters but I have yet to find a brand I really like. I'm using Paws & Claws right now but the odor control is not great. Fresh step is SO dusty, my asthma can't handle it. I really loved Dr. Elsey's...low dust and decent odor control for an unscented litter, it's so expensive though.
I used to use Arm & Hammer or Scoop Away but was on a mission to find something less dusty for cheaper...no luck so far so I think I'm going back to those. They aren't dust free and aren't the cheapest but they're the best I've found for a decent price.

I found Paws and Claws to be the dustiest of all litters I have tried. It may vary from batch to batch though. Dr Elsey's is great. I just hate that plastic bag it comes in. I had to hide the bag in a closet because the girls would attack it and tear the bag up with their claws. It's also a pain to move around. M MissMolly08 have you tried Tidy Cats? It's one of my 2 main go to litters and I find it clumps great, has great odor control and is not very dusty

The scented Paws & Claws Dual Odor Control in the blue box is better at controlling odor. It's lightly scented, not too strong. If you try Tidy Cats I would stay away from the 4-in-1 with the black label, it smells like grape soda and my cats hated it. They also didn't like the Glade one very much. The red label 24/7 and the light blue label Instant Action were pretty good.

I like all of the Tidy Cats varieties. My cats aren't picky about litter- except the Paws and Claws. They didn't like that one. They are so picky about food that I guess they had to give me something.

I was using Fresh Step scoopable unscented, whether is was Extreme or Multicat, for years.
However, Tommy had surgery and we moved to Petsmart's Exquisicat brand paper pellets and boyfriend liked how it didn't track all over the house on feet, so I've been using that since March in all the boxes. Petsmart runs sales from time to time and when they do, I stock up. When it starts to smell, or 1 week has gone by, you just dump the entire thing, spray and wipe the box out, and put in a fresh new layer. I don't notice a lot of issues in odor control other than it soaking up so much urine. The boys eat raw and the girls have kibble and canned.

Even the black label 4-in-1? My cats hated it so much they wouldn't even stay in there long enough to bury their pee, they would jump out!

I tried Tidy cats many years ago when she was a kitten (she's 9 now). I don't remember why I didn't stick with it back then but it may be worth another shot.

I tried the two scented litters from PetSmart- Grreat Choice Multi-Cat and Maximum Strength in the 42 pound boxes. It looked like there was baking soda in them, and they worked well. I haven't tried the Fragrance Free Long Lasting one yet, but if they have another $10 sale I will.

I've always used Arm & Hammer Superscoop (yellow box) since Dec. Recently my neighbor had me order Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal (black box) for her. I've been on litter box duty for her several weeks now since she's out of town & the Clump & Seal seems to work really well. It has a faint, pleasant odor and really does clump & seal as advertised. I think I'm going to switch the next time I have to order. I do wonder if I should though, because currently Luciano's litter box habits are pristine. Maybe I should subscribe to the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' adage.

Right now I'm stuck using clay non-clumping litter because Onsa seems to be allergic to everything else. As long as I dump it, scrub the box and refill it every day, I have no odor.
Prior to this, I used Arm and Hammer Naturals and loved it.

Thanks everyone for the replies!

Do you really like Dr. Elsey's? I heard that when they changed the formula to "Ultra" that it became a lot worse.

I've been hearing a bunch about how Arm & Hammer has a very strong flowery smell. So, you like Arm & Hammer litter, then?

Has anyone tried Everclean? It seems pricey but I'm tempted.

I do not have an odour problem. I buy an 18 kilo bag of litter imported from Canada. It is called Super Mix. It is a clumping cat litter with long lasting odour control. I simply scoop the clumps and solid pieces everyday and replace with fresh litter. Once a week I empty the whole thing wash the litterbox and start all over again. There is never ever any unpleasant odour, a good thing because I live on a 6th floor and couldn't open the windows afraid Cucumella would fall down.I have been using this litter for the last 6 years and I'm very happy with it.

Do you know where I could acquire this?

Your location is not indicated in your profile. The product originates in Canada and they have distributors in different countries. I buy it locally imported from Canada. I'm going to try and photograph the addreses on the package and come back.

Here it is, I hope it helps.
