I found a kitten who looks to be about 3 months old on the side of the road Tuesday. He has the worst case of ear mites I've ever seen in my life. I get paid tomorrow and will be getting him revolution.

Until then, I've been cleaning out his ears and treating them with a olive oil/vitamin e solution to drown the mites. They are looking better but this morning and just now, after he's gotten off my chest after a cuddle session, I've found several of these little bugs left behind. I've had cats with ear mites before but never to this extent so I've never actually seen them. So I'm creeped out.

Are these ear mites?

Honestly, I have never seen an ear mite. My vet had mentioned that they were barely visible to the naked eye. Sorry I'm not much help. Could those possibly be "baby" ticks?

maybe an ear mite :dunno: I googled "what does an ear mite look like?" and did see some pix of things that looked similar to your picture.

They could be eat mites but look a bit big to me. Does your kitten have dirty ears? With mites there is usually dark brown bits on inside of ear. Looks a bit like brown bits of greasy dirt.

My cat Kacie had ear mites for a while and the most obvious symptom was the debris in her ears. I don't recall ever seeing the bugs themselves. The good news is ear mites are very treatable. After enough sessions of using cotton balls and the treatment liquid, Kacie's ears are clear of ear mites.
