I'm not able to get him in until a week from Tuesday. I noticed this on Fletcher's neck two days ago it's under his chin. At first I thought he got into something sticky but now I'm not sure. Does this look like ringworm? I've looked at other posts and still not sure. Is there some cream I could treat him just to be safe until I can get him in? Thanks in advance.

Possibly- ringworm usually shows up on the nose and face area, but I believe it can be other places too. I think it's worth a vet visit.

If the vet determines that is it ringworm, I can link you to several threads dealing with that. You'll get lots of points of view very quickly. And, OF COURSE, you can continue this one, or start another "IT IS RINGWORM!" or some such!

Thanks, I am hoping it's not as I have five other cats and from what I have read so far ringworm is a nightmare. I won't be able to bring him I until a week from today so I am hoping whaterever it is either starts getting better or doesn't get worse. I am wondering if I should put anything on it or just leave it alone I do have some wound spray for cats made by nutri vet.

Keep us posted. If I were more certain that it actually is ringworm, and given that it is in a place where he can't lick it, I might suggest an athlete's foot med with tinactin in it, but since we aren't sure, I don't want to risk it.

Hey everyone, just wanted to give an update. Was able to take fletcher to the vet today. Ends up being a staph infection. No Idea how he got it but the vet gave him two shots and said he should be good to go. Thanks for all the help

SO glad that you took him in! Staph can be nasty if left untreated. Let us know how he does.
