Which rescues or no-kill county agencies have you talked to so far about TNR and/or re-homing the kittens?

I don't want to cover the same ground. I remember you had spoken with one group that let you down (other than a shot of antibiotics).

CCSPCA are high kill, Fresno Humane is the contract provider for the city and they did the shot. HOPE Foundation has a grant for spaying/neuter and they are the ones that want one cat in a trap only (has to be a trap no cages)and they are 60.00 per kitten. They also won't take any kitten with eye or nasal discharge. Cat House on the Kings has been doing adoptions at Petsmart but they were overloaded. Craig's list is full of free kittens.
Fresno Humane was the only one who said they might help take them to Hope once they were 3 lbs and healthy. They contract with Hope for their surgeries. They also have someone that does adoptions at Petsmart but they were full when I went there

Here's the update. The good news is the 7 kittens inside are doing well. They are growing, they are playing and active. They are really cute. I am able to hold 5 of them now. Most of the eye problems have cleared up. My house is crazy and it is still very hot.
We have not caught the other 2 kittens but we continue to try. The 2 mommas and the daddy are here every morning and I am feeding them. I contacted my neighbors and I found one neighbor who loves cats. She isnt able to have one now but I have taking the kittens over to visit. She is a large donor to Valley Animal Shelter. They usually take animals from kill shelters only but I asked her if she would call them about the kittens. They said no at first but she explained who she was and they said they would take them in for her only ( not me ) but it would be 100.00 per kitten. This would include neuter/spay and shots and they would put them up for adoption. So...I'm going to talk to my husband tonight. We have spent so much money already Yikes!!!

We trapped #8 kitten this morning and I just dropped it off at the vet , plan is TNR for this one. The mama cats are here and they are getting in a nice routine and greet me every morning. There is one kitten left and we plan to do TNR with that one too. Each momma will have one kitten and daddy cat drops in once in awhile. We will continue to do whatever we can to trap the last kitten and will feed the others.
The other 7 kittens are leaving tomorrow for the no kill shelter and we are paying for their neuter/spay and shots and in turn they will care for them and try to find them homes.
It shouldn't be so hard to do the right thing and be so expensive!!!!

You have been amazing. I agree it should not be so hard or so expensive to do the right thing. I wish every person who feels their cats need to have kittens could read your story. The rescues are so overloaded. I personally know many people in rescue who have 10 or more cats each because some are unadoptable., Friends and family and neighbors call the all the time for help or to take their cat....I am sorry that you went thru so much stress but, you did the right thing when so m any do not

We caught the final kitten today!!!! I just called the vet and I will drop he/she off to be spayed/neutered. This one will be TNR so each momma will have one kitten.
The TNR is going well. The cats are here every morning to eat and they look happy and relaxed. Even daddy cat is here and is eating with everyone.
We took the 7 kittens to the no kill shelter where my elderly neighbor is a donor. They were suprised how good the kittens looked and how friendly they are. We payed handsomely but they will get spayed/neutered, vaccines, de-fleaed, dewormed, and any other medically care they needed. Once all that is done they will be put up for adoption. The shelter is very nice, they have inside temp controlled rooms with structures to climb. I brought the kittens scratching post and toys and they will stay together until adopted.
I couldn't have done it without your help and support. I didn't think in a million years that we could catch them all and we would save them!!! I will be forever grateful and will never forget this experience.

I know it must be such a relief to get the final kitten. It is a really good feeling to help them, isn't it? Even though it took some blood, sweat, tears and some cash. :)

The female cats can enjoy their lives now, without constant litters. Even the neutered males don't have to fight each other and search out females in heat. Much better lives.

Just found this and read through. You really should feel proud of yourself, what a journey! I just about cheered out loud at your post saying hubby and son got on board. Holding the babies in your hands can capture anyone.:catrub:
I take it the mommies and daddy are staying and will be your own little colony?:lovecat:

I am grateful that you did all of this for those cats. They hit the jackpot when they wandered into your yard. So many people would never have invested the time and commitment to them that you did.Your husband too. I know that this is something you will always be happy that you did.You even get to enjoy seeing some of them on a daily basis. I am so impressed with all you have done. You deserve some kind of gift from the heavens.
