yeah just echoing what has been said - if you leave the collar on a cat, even if they get moody about it initially, will quickly learn to not care.

My experience has been negative I never use collars unless supervised I have found my cats choking
gagging trying to pry collar out of their mouths, when I tighten it needs to be tighter than 2 finger rule to prevent them from sliding jaw under...which has been to tight, even harder with petite cats. This happens during grooming. I use harnesses instead, keep them indoors so sorry have no solutions but can totally relate to this important issue. If Milo is fixed he will have a tattoo this ties you with the Vet as long as info is up to date you can be reached.

Where do you think?
Not a standard procedure to tattoo non pedigree animals. Chipping is more common but only someone with a reader can detect it. I've never had an issue with a collar.

I never put a collar on one of my cats unless I can test the clasp and make sure it is sturdy but will give under reasonable pressure.

We go with Beastie Bands. They're super-light so the cat almost doesn't know they're there. They're made of wetsuit material with enough stretch to come off if necessary, but a Velcro attachment to keep them from coming off in play. They come in literally dozens of patterns and colors.

Darwin was stalking Chocolate so the cat psych has us put bells on him. Now he sometimes jingles his bells as a way of intimidating her! He's a brat!

I hope that beautiful baby of yours is microchipped in case he does manage to escape. A friend had her guy returned to her after 1 1/2 years because he was chipped.
