She did lose some weight. Maybe if you gave her a good brush she might feel better. Use a toothbrush if you don't have a kitty brush. At this point, she's in good hands between you and the vet, so making her feel loved is what she needs.

She is just precious - very pretty!

The fact she's resisting tells me she's a tiny bit better.

Are you still able to get some food into her?

Keeping her hydrated is very important. Is she peeing?

Has she visited with her mama?

Her face was yucky from the food, she's been washed up now. Still syringe feeding every few hours. She is peeing in the litter, still having diarrhea though. I've cleaned her goopy eyes out too, they seem less sunken than yesterday. Hoping she turns the corner soon and starts eating on her own.

Her mom hasn't had much interest in her and her siblings are way too active so she's staying by herself for now in a crate on my dresser.

I figured that's all that was. But, she is a longhair. Using a toothbrush simulates mom's tongue. It may make her feel less violated. She doesn't understand you're trying to help, she just feels yucky.

I think she will turn the corner in the next 48 hours. Hoping her diarrhea abates soon.

Can you ask the vet for an anti-nausea med? Nausea may be turning her off her food.

I will see tomorrow, she's so tiny but might be able to give her some injectable cerenia which would help nausea. I'll ask about it.

Even though both fecals were negative he wants me to treat her with Baycox at twice the dose for 3 days because he thinks it's coccidia and we just aren't finding it on the fecals. Keep doing what I'm doing and cross fingers. She is eagerly eating the food from the syringe today but still won't eat on her own. Still 0.8 pounds. She's only 5% dehydrated now so that's an improvement.

Thank goodness she is taking the syringe well today! It sounds like she may be starting to turn the corner!

Has the diarrhea improved?

I hope it continues! :)

Still diarrhea unfortunately. I'll do a happy dance when it turns solid but so far it's not.

Oh my, hopefully as she eats more it will subside. The antibiotics can cause it too, even if the source of it is removed.

:vibes:Hoping for a good day for this precious baby today!

Up 0.2 pounds today! She loves to eat now but still not on her own. Her poop has gone from water to toothpaste consistency which is getting there. I'm happy with her progress today just not sure why she won't eat on her own.

This is awesome! :hyper:

She must not be quite ready to eat on her own. She may need to get just a little stronger. Or perhaps she enjoys the attention. She's still a baby! :lovecat2:

That's also good news about her poop. The antibiotics are working, thank goodness.

She has some catching up to do, but do you plan to put her back with her siblings at some point?

I'm just tickled pink over this report! :hearthrob:

When she's eating on her own she can go back with her siblings. Got her fecal report back from the lab and it was negative for parasites as well. I've no idea what caused this then. She's definitely more active, my husband has to hold her down for me to do fluids now, but she's still got no interest in eating on her own or drinking. Her crate has shallow dishes of water, dry kibble and the mush she's been eating out of the syringe. But everything remains untouched.

I think she'll get there eventually! She's still recovering.

When she feels better she will eat, I've had many kittens stop eating that weren't feeling good. Will she nurse mom? Thank you so much for the good news, I pray it continues!

Mom's milk is dried up so that doesn't help

 So glad that your little princess is making progress! You are really fighting the good fight to save her. If you can consult a holistic vet, you could ask about adding some slippery elm or marshmallow root to her formula, to help her intestinal mucosa to recover more quickly - maybe your own vet has some knowledge of herbs
