Owen can eat mush if he wants it and is ready! He sounds like a little doll! [emoji]10084[/emoji]️

I love how descriptive you are when you are describing their antics.!;)
Thank you! [emoji]128524[/emoji] I could probably go on for days about their personalities with stories to go with each kitten. I can't even count how many times these little guys have made me laugh so hard I could cry.

They have also figured out how to get out of the little play pen I made for them so when I get home today I'm going to block of the bed and introduce the litter box to the little monsters.

All 5 of the older kittens are on the mush now! Boy do they chow down on it!
Last night with Trunchbull leading the way the kittens figured out how to get out of the little playpen they have been using for awhile now. So they now have free range of my room. Momma has one section she can get in and get away from the now little monsters. I will be setting up a litter box for them tonight as well.

So it's been crazy since I last updated on here. All 6 kittens are doing amazing! Growing like crazy, eating like crazy and let me tell you pooping like crazy! They have all started using the litter box so proud of my little terrors.

Well I posted that the rescue will be taking the kittens sometime this week, not happening!!!! My babies will be staying with me. I was originally told that momma cat would be going with for AT LEAST 2 wks to finish weaning all the kittens. I got contacted stating she was to full to take Momma and would just take the kittens. Owen would have only been 4wks old. Way to young to be taken away from Matilda! I explained he wasn't even eating mush at that point and she said "we'll get him on it this weekend and he will be fine". That didn't sit right by my family at all! As a rescue you should no better and you shouldn't go back on your word.
My vet has agreed to spay all of the kittens and Momma in exchange for one of my goats. It's amazing how well things work when everything falls into place. They are now moved into my garage in a huge pen and loving all the extra space they didn't have in my room(I think my room was meant to be an office so it's on the smaller side). My dog Penny will be picked up this Wednesday. Just feeling overwhelmed with the all the changes but I know what's meant to be will be and you can't fret and worry.

How insanely wonderful is it that your vet is willing to trade spay/neuter services for a goat? I know that takes a huge load off of your mind. And it also answers my question about your username! I dote on goats. Actually, I'm a sucker for most anything with fur, but cats are definitely at the top of the list!

I'm a little floored that a rescue went back on their word, AND that they were so nonchalant about taking a kitten that young who wasn't even on mush! I understand overcrowding, but that seems...off.

The more I think about it the more it makes me upset that they were so willing to take him away from a nursing mom! Why do it? I've also had serval people donate to Matilda's kittens through their amazon wish list and I haven't heard anything about it coming in...I understand other kittens might need it more and things are crazy with millions of kittens coming in but I'm not impressed with how things are being handled at all.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 I am really excited he decided that would be a fair trade! I raise show goats and he will get pick of which ever goat he wants wether it be one of my really nice kids out of my winning show stock or a market goat to eat. I'll have to upload some pictures of them. I have my first Doe to kid June 7th so I'm super excited!

And here is Abigail one of our newest does.
Ok I think that's enough goat pictures lol if I don't stop now the whole thread would be covered in goat pictures I'm a crazy goat lady like I am a crazy cat lady.

I love goats and would like to own them as pets when I retire to my brother's farm eventually. That is a lovely goat in your picture. Don't goats usually have 2 kids at a time?

Bless you for keeping this little family together! I would have done the same thing. In fact, I took in a pregnant stray 2 years ago who had 4 babies, and I kept mom and all 4 of her children. I enjoy this cat family tremendously!

It's awesome your vet will barter spay/neuter services for a goat. These things do have a way of working out.

Rescues are slammed this time of year, and yours is not the first complaint I've heard recently. In my mind there is never an excuse for not doing the right thing!

What is happening with your dog getting picked up?

I guess the reason we are so upset is this has been a really hard situation with more personal information shared with them and it really put my heart and mind at ease. But all is solved and I don't have the energy to worry about them not following through.

Sarthur2 Sarthur2 Yes Boer goats generally have two kids, but it really just depends on the doe. Some Boer does have had 6 at once! I am totally not hoping for anything over triplets lol. Sense she is a first freshener( her first litter) I am hoping for twins. That way it will be easier on her to raise them and two is just a perfect number. If she has a doe we plan on keeping one and the other(s) will be sold.

Penny(my dog) will be coming here tomorrow after she gets groomed treated for fleas and all that fun stuff. It's been two years since I've had her so I'm really excited!!! I'll have to find a picture and post her to if you guys don't mind lol.

I'm so happy to hear how everything has been sorted out especially for little Owen :hearthrob:

I, too, am a goat lover!!! I live in a city that has a local nonprofit goat herd called the Belmont Goats which they move from space to space. The goats help the city by reducing the need to mow the vegetation and the goats get a space to live:

Wanted: New home for the Belmont Goats

The goats used to be located on a lot on my way home from work and I loved seeing them every day!

Awwwwww. What beautiful goats! And I especially love that last pic of Penny. If ever I saw a dog with her heart in her eyes, it's Penny!

Think I'll wander over to the General Forums and start a thread for Other Animals In Our Lives. That'll give us a place for them.
