Okay is this this just me or does anyone else have this problem? My neutered male cat Kabby has this really strange habit of peeing in one corner and only this corner of his litterbox. Doesn't matter how dirty or clean it is he always has to pee in this one spot. Sometimes he will stand in the damp litter and then track it across the floor.

His whole box can be clean but he still pees in this one corner.

Why the corner?

I don't know the answer but my Kitty does the same thing. She heavily favors one corner but unlike Kabby, she will not pee there if I've not scooped the most recent pee clump. But once it's clean and open for business, she's right back at her preferred spot!

Kabby doesn't seem to care unfortunately... he just stands in it and leaves little chalky footprints all over the floor and my furniture.

Funny thing is he's a very immaculate cat when it comes to grooming himself so not sure why he must use the corner if it's damp.

Sometimes I think he does it on purpose like a kid drawing on the walls.

This isn't a new behavior either he's always done this.

You guys are not alone. My boy only pees at the four corners of the litter box and poo in the middle of it and mind you, he has a very large litter box which he can do a full stretch in it :lol3:

I've been wondering all these while why he choose the corners too. He's been peeing at the corners since the first day he came home when he was just three weeks old.

I keep asking him why but he refuses to give me an answer :lol3: And he pee real tight in the corner of the litter box. If there's a clump of pee in one corner, he'll not pee there and he'll find an empty corner to pee.

There were a few times when the corners are all full, he'll hold his pee till I clear the box. Once cleared, he immediately jump in to pee.

Maybe it's a formed habit? :dk:
