Oh no! [emoji]128546[/emoji]

Was this one of Sadie's 2 remaining babies?

Poor Sophie; poor Mama losing her babies.

I agree it was related to the vaccines. [emoji]128528[/emoji]

How are Sadie and Sabrina doing?

Yes one of Sadie's kittens, only the boy is left now. Fingers crossed for him. Sadie and Sabrina are doing great! Sadie is so so sweet, she just wants belly rubs all of the time. And she loves chatting with you. Sabrina is still reserved towards me, but I keep forcing medicine that she hates down her throat so I don't blame her lol.

Are you planning to rehome Sadie and Sabrina together eventually? I think they need to stay together.

I would too, and also the absolute gorgeous black kitty, except I have 7 cats myself right now.

I'm so glad they will stay together! I feel relieved about that.

Everyone is still doing great, Sawyer is gaining every day.. this morning he was 418g. Olivia's babies I didn't record their weights this morning, but I will get them tomorrow and post! They are so precious! Everyone's eyes are open!

So question... I know that they recommend spaying mom 8 weeks after birth... I am trying to plan a trip to the low cost spay/neuter clinic. I am hoping to take Sadie and Sabrina and Olivia. I am also planning on taking some feral cats from a local colony so I am trying to plan it now so I can plan out trapping. I am wondering if it would be ok if I plan the trip and am able to take Olivia a week or so before her kittens are 8 weeks... From my calculations her kittens are 8 weeks on 5/19, but I am wondering if I can plan it for the week before? I didn't think it would be an issue since her kittens should be eating mostly solid food by then, but I thought I would check!

Yes, she can be spayed when her kittens are 7 weeks old. I would not take her any earlier than that though. She will still be able to nurse afterwards. Do ask for pain meds for 3 days for all the females. Also be aware that Sadie or Sabrina may expetience a heat cycle prior to spay day.

Glad everyone is doing well. How is Sabrina's bottom?

That's an ambitious plan you have. I think it's awesome that you plan to include some ferals. Keep us posted on the particulars. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Ok! I just put in for time off work and tomorrow I will call and schedule it for 5/17! So only a few days before they are 8 weeks old! I will take Sabrina, Sadie and Olivia and I am going to try to get 3-4 ferals/strays to take with me as well! Last trip we took 13 and it was just too much lol they almost didn't all fit!

Sabrina is still on the antibiotics, her bottom looks almost completely normal. I only have a dose or two left of the clavamox, but my vet gave me another refill if I would need it but I was hoping to save it for another time if I would need it, but it looks like I may need to get it for Sabrina- I might call the emergency vet tomorrow and see if they will give me more for her so I have a back up of it. I know that Clavamox doesn't store for very long after it is mixed.

You can ask for the clavamox not to be mixed. You can store the powder for a long time and mix it yourself with the prescribed amount of water when you are ready to use it if your vet will let you.

Since Sabrina's bottom is looking almost normal, how much longer do you plan to keep her on the meds? Has it been 10 days yet?

It will be 12 days on the meds today! I was going to keep her on them for 14 days and see how she was looking. I would like to do them a couple of days after she looks normal. I might have to go ahead and just have them refill it.

I like updates like this!  And I so admire the work you are doing with the ferals.  I so wish we had a group working with them in my area.  I want Little Bit and the rest of the "wanderers" trapped, neutered, and brought back SO BADLY!  However, I have such very limited funds, NO car, and no one within a reasonable distance who would even be willing to lend humane traps!

Sorry for the inactivity guys! We have been SOO busy! We are working with our community to help the local feral cats. I am trying to get locations on everyone/if they currently have caretakers/ and appointments to get them spayed/neutered and funds to do so. We were also contacted by a lady, she said her mom has a pregnant cat. The more I have talked to this woman, the more I believe she has no clue about anything that is going on with her animals. The mom apparently has two dogs and two cats, none of which are fixed. The one dog just had three puppies. They are 5 weeks old and they are feeding them canned pedigree dog food and cows milk- which is awful for young puppies. They have no clue who the dad is, the mom is some kind of mixed breed but they cannot advise how big she is or a breed she could be mixed with. I asked how far along the cat was and they said 2-3 weeks. Which I don't believe to be true unless she saw them mating because I don't think they would notice her pregnant that early. I am attaching the picture they sent me of her. If she is that early we will get her spayed. We will be getting her tomorrow- not sure where I am putting her just yet. We contacted another rescue group and they are going to get the puppies from them, it is too early but since they are receiving poor nutrition they think it is best to get them now. We are going to work on getting the animals that she wants to keep spayed and neutered so that this stops happening.

An update on everyone else! Sadie, Sabrina, and Sawyer are doing great! Sawyer is getting HUGE! I will try to get pictures of everyone tomorrow! I find him frequently by the can of food I leave out for the moms but I don't think he is eating it yet.. 4 weeks old today! He is getting good and running around everywhere! I rarely find him in the nest anymore!

Olivia and her babies are great! They are 2 weeks old as of yesterday! All eyes are open and they are a lively bunch!

London is getting bigger everyday! I have been feeling some strong kicks from her babies the last couple of days!

All in all we are busy, but great! I will have time tomorrow I can hopefully get updated pictures!

Wow! Lots going on. Can the other rescue take the mama dog along with the puppies for a few weeks? Then have her spayed and return her to the family afterwards if they still want the dog?

The owner doesn't want them taking the mom dog, she just wants the puppies and the pregnant cat gone I guess :/ I am hoping she is fairly receptive to us helping her spay and neuter everyone...

I think the new momma cat is probably going to have to just go out in the main living area with my other adult foster cats, do you think that will be ok? I just usually like to put my momma cats in a room of their own so it is stress free for them. I am hoping she is early enough we can spay her. I also thought about maybe moving Sadie Sabrina and Sawyer out to the main part (kitten proofed) and putting new momma in there. I might also see if the foster for London can go ahead and take her. So busy!
