BOOBOO...
SOFT SWEET, SOCIAL,
A TRUE SCAMP...
HE WAS LUCKY I FOUND HIM THAT DAY, A BABY BOY FLOATING IN A BOAT WITH HIS BROTHERS.
HE'S BEEN A TRUE BLESSING IN OUR HOME.

HOW LOVING CAN ONE CAT BE?

VERY VERY!!

I FEEL HIS LOVE WHEN HE PUTS HIS PAW IN MY HAND AND PURRS SO GENTLY. WHEN HE SNUGGLES UP AGAINST MY BACK. WHEN HE GENTLY WALKS ACROSS THE BED SO AS NOT TO DISTURB MY SLUMBER.
HE'S A MELLOW FELLOW.

My family is so lucky
to have Callie in our lives.  She is my little baby.
(And when I say she's a baby, I really mean it.  Callie is a full-grown adult at only 7 pounds with an disproportionally tiny head, and whines like nobody's business!)

We were not looking to adopt a second feline into our family when we found Callie.  We already had Coco, who is a very anxious cat and had some extremely stressful experiences living with other cats (before she came to live with us).  But we stopped by the Petco store near my parents' house (not the store we typically frequent!), and it was love at first meow.  Callie and I made eye contact from several feet away and she called out to me.  From that moment, our fate was sealed.

We were so lucky
to have stopped into that particular store that day, and that no one had taken her home during the 2-3 weeks she'd been there (still not sure how she was there so long, given how cute she is!).  Callie has provided me with so much love and support through some really difficult times this past year.  I am truly lucky
to have her in my life.

And Coco, while wary at first, warmed up to Callie quite quickly.  I believe Coco also feels lucky
that we found Callie.  She now has a best friend (and partner in crime) to keep her company while my husband and I are at work.

Finally, an interesting fact... calico kitties are considered lucky
in Japanese culture.  According to Wikipedia, "[white] cats are seen to bring about the happiness of its owner, along with purity, and positive energy.  The luckiest of all the colors is considered to be the calico colored cat; black is meant to lure away evil spirits, and gold for monetary good fortune." The weather in Chicago today is cold, damp, rain and very gloomy.  I have a whopper migraine from it but this post is not about me.  It's about Carleton comforting me.  I cannot open my eyes completely, even the indoor light bothers me but Carleton is right by my side.  He's my constant companion and helps me immensely when I feel under the weather, (literally).  Somehow cats sense when we need them most and Carleton is no exception. In fact, he's my inspiration!  How could anyone not fall in love with this face?  Happy St. Patrick's Day from Carleton and me. View media item 412805

There never was a cat as football crazy and football mad as my beloved King Sunny-A-Cat.  I'd throw a foam "football" toy in the tub and right away, he'd be in there, batting it all around with his lightning-fast paws.  His moves were spectacular!

Oh, goodness.  The LAST Lucky Cat fact.  I'm kinda disappointed!  Well...here we go...

Polydactyl cats are believed lucky by many people, especially by the early sailors traveling to America which is why there are now so many polydactyl cats in New England. They sailed across from Europe and jumped ship in the New World, leading to a high concentration of genes for polydactyly.

The belief isn't restricted to those sailors. "Six-finger cats" are also lucky for Malaysian households. Although some American writers and breeders have stated that polydactyls are only found in America, in actual fact they are common in Britain, fairly common in mainland Europe and not uncommon in Asia.

They're lucky I love them - especially when they insist on grabbing my sweater and trying to drag it into the litter box.  I guess I need to stop throwing it on the bedroom floor.  But still!  What buttheads!

And, now that I'm on my laptop I can upload the family portrait.  Hehe

I am so lucky to have both Shadow and Mittens in my life. I was so sad and lonely after my Mickey's passing. My house was just a house, and now with my kitties, my cold house has become a warm home once again!

GOOD GRIEF!!!  Twice in a row?  I'm thrilled, but...stunned.  I just don't win stuff.  OK, I'm not going to enter anything else for a couple of month.  Now, if PCH hits, I'm coming to see ALL of you!

Anything else here, that is.
