My cat won't drink from his new fountain?

Like others, my cat loves the pioneer pet big max. She also had a pioneer pet raindrop, and liked it (she still uses hers occasionally, but she prefers the big max). It took a couple of weeks before she drank from her fountain reliably, so patience is a big part.

Also, try soem reverse osmosis water (most grocers sell it for like 25cents a gallon)  in yours to help temp the cat.  it removes nearly all the chemicals in tap water, which may be causing your cat to turn their nose up at it.

I don't know why I posted such a long post last year. Sorry about that!

Just want to say that my cat drinks from what was my glass on my nightstand. It was a waste of money to buy her 2 pet fountains and different upside down water coolers. Only the first one worked when that was her only source of water. I ended up deciding to just let her have the glass on my nightstand after she claimed it. No joke that she shot me a dirty look before drinking from it one day in front of me. I use a tall, plastic cup now for myself. As I'm posting this, however, I just realized maybe I could have drank from her water fountains and then she would have drank from them. LOL.

My male finally drank from the fountain while it was actually running. I was surprised because he's usually the apprehensive one.  Jealousy usually coaxes into anything my male cat does, especially if she can claim something for herself. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened with the fountain yet. In any case, I realize cat fountains are basically, utilitarian. however, some of them look sort of like urinals or toilets.  I don't mean to be gross but they do.

I'm not sure that the aesthetics are worth the price but some of these really do look nice.  Of course, they're useless if the cats won't drink from them but they are pretty.

Has anyone seen these?

I bought mine based on reviews and how easy it would be to keep clean. I'm glad I went with stainless.  There are some that are works of art my concern was that during regular cleaning it would be easy to chip or break. Chit happens.

I am using the Pioneer Stailess Raindrop. The transition is slow but seems to be working. I bought the unit locally so I can easily return it if things don't work out. I also considered local availability of the filters.

All Pioneer Pet fountains use the same filters. You can get a great deal on them from Amazon. I buy these and they are very good

Make sure you rinse them well before you use them. The same goes for the ones made by PP of course.

I try to provide a pristine and perfume free eating and drinking station. I feel that this is the first essential step to providing a comfortable eating and drinking experience.
