Hi, my name is Patti. I have a 14-year-old calico female named, of course, Callie! I have also a four-year-old male tabby and white named JoJo. Now we've only had Jojo for two years and he wants to be friends with Callie. However Kelly hates his guts! She would much rather tear his eyes out and be friends. Callie is basically a very shy little girl. And Joe Joe is a very shy very big boy.
I've been till now, I have had to keep them separated. However, we are going to be moving to Georgia in 2 to 3 weeks. I desperately need advice! Can anybody tell me if there's any hope of the two of them to ever be friends in the new house?

I doubt if they will ever be friends but if you were to get a friend for JoJo he might stop bothering Callie.  He should have a male friend around his age who is laid back and used to other cats.  In my experience, most girls are more loners, or hang out with their sisters and daughters, and most males hang out with each other and like to play and sleep in groups.  I only have ONE pair that's a neutered male/spayed female who love each other, and they were both very timid cats who were forced to room together when they came in, and it taught each of them to trust, and they each discovered their mojo.  Now they can be out with the other cats without being bullied, and if either one gets into a tussle with one of the other cats, the other one comes to the rescue.  Moving would be the perfect time to add a new brother for JoJo, and in the meantime set up an area for Callie that is pretty much hers and the boys don't go, at least as you start out.

great advice given!

Hopefully a move would level out the playing field for them, new home, new territories.

Hi there welcome along, I have a male female pair and they love the bones of each other BUT I got Sooty roughly a month or so after we got Flash and she took to him straight away, escaped where she was to be with him on his first night with us but they were very young kittens so they have grown up with each other.

I think I would add if you can afford to and do the whole scent swapping, shared eating times and area getting closer ( I had a recent vet visit there was lots of hissing and swatting going on and they rekindled their friendship through food and treats) and playtime....laser pens and wand toys where they can interact together.  Might work might not....
