catpack catpack we didn't even talk to an actual doctor, they said it was an hour wait just to see her and we had already been there an hour, bUT I will look into those pain meds, thank you, but they said that the best thing to do was amputate given where the break is and all

tamotv tamotv thank you for the kind words. She was left in the care of my mother's boyfriend, but he hates all 9 of our cats, talks about killing them constantly, and they're all scared of him, but he knows we love them so he doesn't harm them and feeds and waters them while we're gone, he said he hadn't seen her all 4 days we were gone but he was working most of the time so yea...

Frankly, I would never trust someone whom I knew "hated" my cat with its care for 4 days. Especially if he actually talks about killing them! I don't know, but if I were you, I would keep your cat(s) as far away from this guy as possible! Good luck to you and your kitty.

Amputation my very well be the best option, especially when looking down the road as she ages (early on set arthritis would be a definite and real possibility, if not liklihood).

Also with the injury possibly being as old as nearly 2 weeks, the bones may have begun the healing process (certainly would not be healed even halfway) which would mean having to go in and surgically break the bones and then resetting them so that they could (hopefully) heal correctly.

Regardless of your decision to amputate or attempt to save the leg, your cat desperately needs pain medication.

Have you contacted any rescue groups or any of the organizations I linked to see if you can get financial assistance?

tamotv tamotv I don't know of anyone who will watch 9 cats without wanting cash that I don't have, but yea, I'm not really comfortable with him around them, but I have no other choice

Wouldn't be surprised if this " boyfriend " didn't step on her paw. I would watch your 9 cats FOR FREE if you were in my town. Please keep us updated as I'm so pulling for her and praying. You seem like a very caring and smart young lady.Im going to try to post some organizations that might be of help.

Glad to hear her foot is better!

Feel free to start a thread in the kitten forum about the new litter.

Are you able to keep mom inside and away from intact males until this litter is weaned? She can get pregnant again within a week of delivery, which is very hard on her body!

talkingpeanut talkingpeanut Yes, she is away from male cats, that has happened before and we've learned from it so no male cats are allowed inside right now. I actually have 2 separate litters of kittens right now and the moms have switched babies XD they like to rake care of them together
Here is a picture of one of the ones born yesterday We haven't had a kitten with this much white on it before and we're excited :)

Would you like help finding a low cost clinic to spay and neuter? The surgeries are far less expensive than litters. Your cats will also be happier, healthier, and able to interact safely.

The newborns need their mom and their mom only right now. She is producing colostrum, which they need. Please close them in a room with mom.

Both moms also need unlimited food, water, and access to litter boxes.
