Oh yeah, the pates are not good for the phos (that's the kind of Friskies I feed them). I have one CKD kitty who needs lower phosphorus, so I try to keep the "community food" (the one I feed all five) on the not-too-high end. But I still feed this one once or twice a week.

I like to keep the community food at an average of 1% if possible. Sara's k/d is at 0.4%, and the kibble I mix with the k/d is 0.6%, which is the bulk of what she eats. The Friskies flavors we have range from about 1.4% to 1.9% (yikes, I just saw that one yesterday).

I guess for a cat that has no kidney that Phos % would be ok ?  I guess I don't have a choice anyway because Friskies Pate is the only wet food my cats will eat . They liked Fancy Feast but it made them sick plus that has double the Phos%  per 3 ozs .

Phos % seems to really be dependent on the variety, not necessarily the brand. The flaked version of FF is VERY high in phosphorus, but it's also very high in protein. Classic is also high. Grilled isn't quite as bad, which is what we use. Some of the varieties are Friskies are relatively low, like the Indoor Selects, but they cost more also and some are downright impossible to find. There's a turkey / brown rice / greens one that is 0.7%! But I can only find it on Petco's website.

Higher phos is probably fine for kitties without issues, but as they get older, it's probably good to try and change to something lower. The only time they really need higher phos is when they are still growing. I give all my other kitties food that is higher in phos, even Maple (who is the same age as Sara, my CKD kitty).
