Hello!
Hope you are all having a splendid Tuesday!

Have you ever been on a bad/strange first date?

(Or any date in general, doesn't just have to be the first one)

Thankfully I've never actually been on a true bad date. But have been on a peculiar one a long time ago - started off fine enough, pretty decent guy if a bit forward, until he took me to a jewelry store after a meal to look at engagement rings. In a serious way. Seriously. I knew he mentioned prior that he had hoped he would have been "married by now" (He was in his late 20's at the time, I had just turned 20) and I didn't think twice about it. Until that!

Then afterward, received a lot of drunk messages from him.  Goes without saying, hadn't seen him since!

LOL I had a really bad one when I first started dating when I was around 16. My sister and her friend wanted to go to a local fair. So they decided to fix me and her friends brother up so he would take them. OMG the moment he walked in the house I knew it wouldn't go any where. He looked close to 25 and he was like 4 inches shorter than me. I am only 5'5". He keep trying to hold my hand and kiss me which freaked me out. I couldn't wait to get home and I was so mad at my sister we fought. I think its funny now but then it wasn't.

I think I have only had one I would consider pretty bad. I met him at a dance club and we went out the next week to another dance club. All he did was buy me drinks. TONS of drinks and these drinks where expensive. I don't think there was any food involved just drinks. I usually stop at two nowadays but then I would drink maybe 4 spread out over the night. I don;t even recall dancing but we must have.

Well there was sooooooo much booze I felt obligated to drink. Afterward this guy took me to a house with lots of other people. I was so drunk I purposely locked myself into the bathroom as I felt sumthing was up. Cell phones did not exist then but I took the house phone into the bathroom and called a friend and talked to him for hours as I sobered up. He even talked to my date to ensure no funny business was up. I wish he came and got me but he did not.

When I felt sober enough I went to my car and drove the 40 miles home. I think the guy asked me out again but I said no.

I went out with a 45-year old man when I was about 30. I didn't know him, but he was a friend of friend, that type of thing. He took me to a xxx fetish movie which was violent and incredibly inappropriate. He came by my place a few days later, wanting to take me to his "peaceful and isolated" cabin for the evening, which NO WAY would I ever do feeling even stronger creepiness about him (if that was possible), so I lied and told him I was back together with an old boyfriend.

I went on a blind date once, I was to meet him at a restaurant with our mutual friends. We were all there when he showed up, and we all watched while he spotted his ex-girlfriend and her parents having dinner in the same room. He made a beeline to them, sat with them and got back together with her - I didn't even meet him, it was really awkward so my friends and I left.

Another time I had creepy feelings about a guy in one of my classes who asked me out at the end of the term. I asked him to meet me at a club downtown instead of picking me up at my place. It didn't take much conversation to realize he was a psycho. I snuck out the back door of the club and caught a cab home. I was glad I didn't tell him where I lived.

Jeepers.  I don't have any terrible stories.  I only went on 2 dates before my DH.  One a friend set me up with her uncle. That sounds creepy; but he was only 2 or 3 years older than us.  He was in the navy and liked to drive too fast.  As in scary dangerous fast.
My friend and her brother were in the back seat and I spent most of that afternoon talking to my friend.  He took me home alone so we got to talk; there just wasn't any interest.

The other guy was a perfect gentleman and my mother loved him.  He was my BFF's highschool boyfriend.  It felt like going out with my brother.
They had broken up about a year prior and he had gone away for basic training and things.  He was a super sweet guy.  We went to homecomming as a big group our senior year; but one of my other very close friends and I did not have dates.  We sat in groups of 4 for dinner so it was fine.  When we were finished eating my 2 friends and I went to the ladies room to check our makeup.  When we got back he was standing and said "lets go."  He had paid for ALL of our meals.  He said it was our homecomming and we shouldn't be paying for our own dinners.  I know that might really bother some people.  But wow...I  was floored.  I still am.  That's a big thing for a 17 year old to do.  He was very big on opening doors.  If we all hung out; he'd help clean up and even wash dishes.  Just a nice guy.  But there was no romantic interest.  No spark.  He was one who noticed my interest in DH and really encouraged me to go for it.  (It took months for DH to ask me out. Actually it took someone calling him out about it right in front of me.
)

I did have a friend who got basically abandoned at a restaurant/club 90 minutes from home.  He had encouraged her and her friend to drink up because he was driving her car.  So they'd had quite a bit.  He got mad and left with a friend leaving them both there.  I don't know what time they actually made it home because they couldn't drive for a while.

Probably the worst I had was a blind date with someone I met on Match.com

He mentioned that he had just gotten over chicken pox. I, never had that so I was concerned and he assured me he was fine to go out.

Met him and OMG his face was riddled with pox marks.  I mean, barely healed.  Why on earth would someone think this was an acceptable way to meet someone new???

We met at a restaurant in NYC called Galaxy.  The gimick was cannabis seed encrusted foods and it was done up like space inside.  He just did not get it and was confused about the whole thing.

Between his face, and the obvious lack of any kind of feelings of being in tune with each other, that was that.

Of course, he would be the one who called again for another date.  I gently let him down.

No bad dates here. I have only dated 2 people, one guy when I was 14 that we basically saw each other at school and went to the movies together a couple of times. The second guy, I married. We've been together since I was 15, he was 16.
