Hi. This is Sensei. I'm not sure what kind of cat he is but his ice blue eyes (pic doesn't do his eyes justice here) and his floppy reaction when you pick him up, makes me think he is Ragdoll. What do you think?

Yes, I suppose you could compare him to a mitted seal ragdoll.   Technically he is of course "just" a Seal point mitted  longhaired domestic,    (ie black with white).

Ie ragdoll with black and white colors...   Ragdolls normally dont have white feet - Birmans do - but he has this white breast piece, so he is mitted for real.

I suppose he may even be a senior citizen by now, as he had become very dark during the years.

Observe, he has his broad body not only because he is a ragdoll, but also surely does has an excellent appetite, as a friendly  Show judge put it at least once.   :)

(It was about a Russian blue female.  RB are supposed to be slender and elegant, so this judge was really friendly and kind, aside of a sense for humor).

He is about 7-8 years old. About 17 pounds and is super friendly. You can hang him upside down and he just goes limp. He tends to have urinary problems a lot but other than that he is healthy. Besides being a bit chunky. When I look at pictures of cat breeds he has a couple of breeds that he fits in. But the going limp when picked up made the vet say he reminds him of a Ragdoll like cat. I know he isn't a pure bred but I still would like to know who he closely resembles. I Never heard of Ragdoll until the vet said it. Here's a picture of his momma (closest to girl).

We see he got his colors, black and white, from mom.    She was also a carrier of the point gene.

The other point gene he got from dad.  We dont know at this moment if dad was a pointed cat, or just a carrier of point gene, as mom is   Its although quite probable the dad was a ragdoll, because he behaves so much alike a ragdoll...

The other black and white, is it moms bro, and Sensei uncle?

And the young lady on the next photo, is it your dau 7 years later?

The other cat is mom's sister, senses aunt. That's my daughter when she was about 5 or 6 I think. The cats were babies, before they became mommies. I had an appt to get them fixed and they got out by accident and got preg. They hadn't even went in heat yet. Surprised me. I didn't know that was possible. The dad was a huge cat that I thought was a dog. It was night and he kept hanging around my house. Never got a good look at him. Just that he was huge!!.

My daughter is 14 now. I'm can't exactly remember how old they are. It's just a guess. I just know the pic was taken before they had babies.

He does resemble a Ragdoll, both in looks and, it sounds like, in personality. He's a beautiful cat!
