I had a heart attack last night. Not a really bad one, but a huge wakeup call. In hospital at least another night. Connected to all kinda of wires and tubes.

They are going to do an angiogram on Monday. Maybe an angioplasty too. I'm so scared. My mom died at age 52. I'm 52.

You aren't your mom.
Is your brother able to come visit?
That's right.  You are not your mom and think of how far medicine has come since then!

I don't blame you for being scared; I sure wouldn't be excited about it, but you know they are pretty common procedures.  My Grandfather had quite a few done over the years after his heart attack.  He lived at least 20 years beyond that; but as his doctor put it he just needed a tune-up every now and then.
Try to stay positive; I know from what you have shared in the past that you are a fighter and you can get through this too.

Very scary - I hope all goes well.

My grandma had a quadruple bypass last year without any pain or symptoms beforehand. The doctor caught something off on a routine appointment and sent her straight to the hospital to be transferred to a heart specialist in another city. At first we thought she just needed an angioplasty, and then a single bypass, and then a double bypass, but that third one is partially clogged too. Before we knew it, she was up to quadruple. It was a scary and rapid fire four days of bad news, but she came out of it well and has since recovered well.

All the better if they can act on it quickly - I'm sure you're in good hands.

Big scare, wow.  Lots of positive thoughts being sent your way for a full recovery and this being the begining of a new, healthy phase taking lots of care of yourself and staying fit.

Who wouldn't be scared, but once you know what the angiogram says and what is going to happen next you will know what you are dealing with and should feel better.

Oh no. I am so glad you are getting cared for. You and your mother are two different people. My mother died of cancer at age 62. All five of her children have lived past that age. I am praying for your total healing.

I hope you're doing well. I'm sorry that I haven't been on the past few days (we've been home improving), and just saw your first post.
