@emlliverpool   DaBird is SO good.  It's worth saving up for.
Pretty much the best toys are cardboard boxes and they come pretty cheep, esp if you can get other people to buy stuff then give you the boxes.
Just got DaBird.  I had to hide it. I thought my boys were going to have a heart attack.  Cimba looked for it for a half hour after I hid it!!

I sadly missed the TCS SS sign up deadline.....................Maia and I both look forward to this soooo much! So I obviously have to do my best to make it up to her. I have tucked away a stocking full of kitty toys and fury mice I know she will freak out over! Love my girl soooo much!

Our Two Bengals each got a new catnip mouse tonight and they will each get a small soft ball to bat around tomorrow morning.

This is Makena with his new mouse

They love getting new toys. We get them something new at least every month and rotate their toys at the same time. Most of the time they have to share a toy, but for this holiday they each get their own.

I thought about getting Tempest and Sinbad some awesome shinies. Pondered and pondered what to get them. Then I looked around the house, and saw the millions of toys scattered everywhere ... and the two of them playing wildly with strips of newspaper and cardboard boxes.

I think the best presents I can possibly give them are all the empty boxes and wrapping paper shreds.

I found out that one of my winter gloves really had gone bad, there were too many holes to them being useful even as without fingers, so that meant of course that my kitties got more Christmas presents!

I cut fingers out and put tinfoil inside to make them mouse like more or less, then I cut flexible hair tie circle thing and glued it to be as a tail, it took a while to make 10 of those.

Then I cut some more of those gloves, palm and backside of hand was enough large to make kind of leaves out from them, I did attempt to make them feather like, but they did resemble more like leafs. I attached some string to those and as earlier this year I fell few trees I had lot of branches stored, from those I got nice stick to attach the string, so they got nice flying toy they can chase as I swing it around with a stick.

That works really well and seem to hold up better than most commercial ones which usually last for 3 attacks.

One of cats however prefers to chew stick instead of chasing the toy, but he is always like that, he either rubs his head against toy or chews it, but rarely actually plays like other ones.

Anyway it takes 7 days for glue to dry so that it has full strength, so I gave only one mouse for them which for me appeared to have glue dried up after several hours, but it might be that they manage to destroy it quite soon.

Mouse was well received too, just seeing it caused them to become vocal and expressing their desire to have it, there were some arguments over who can have it first though, so when they get rest of mice, they will have lot of fun.

I don't have needle or any sewing ability / tools, might need to get such and learn using them as it would allow me to make lot more of those inexpensive toys.

My Abby is getting a new litter box, sratching post, Pure Bites freeze-dried salmon treats {she's allergic to turkey and chicken), and plenty of hugs and kisses! That's about it.

I bought L&S a new litter box for in the house. I have a screen room at the back of the house that I rarely use. I replaced the latch on the door that goes to the outside and pressure washed the inside of the room today. The old litter box and the extra fountain will be going out there after everything dries and it will be the kitties' new playroom/catio. There's a picnic table out there to lounge on, some outdoor furniture to relax in and plenty of wildlife on the other side of the screen to watch. The little lizards that like to hang out back there aren't going to like me very much but the babies will be thrilled

Who wants toys when there are  boxes, piles of shiny wrapping paper and sheets of packing paper?
Sometimes I think they do that stuff just to see our reactions!

"Smug human, how dare she presume to know what I like..... I'll show her!"

I once brought home two big cardboard boxes - thought I would cut some holes in them and let the cats play in them for a few days. They ignored the boxes and played with the pieces of cardboard I cut out!

LoL, yep, it looks like yours was a fairly typical kitty Christmas here, though if you tried the cutting holes in them and making it obvious you expected them to play with them I'm guessing @Bengalcatman  would be pretty  spot on in his prediction.   I'm not so sure it's to show us they know best but more that the bits and pieces offer them even more play things.

Mouse had a great time playing with heaps of new balls and pom poms he was sent, and a nerf gun with 3 darts - when he saw the first dart fly out he raced after it, pounced and then disappeared out of the room with it at full speed so I had to follow in hot pursuit to make sure he didn't chew the little thing to bits and try to eat it!
He seems to be sleeping a lot today.    Happy dreams I hope.

LOLLLL That is just TOOOOO FUNNYYYY

My cats did something similar...I had a few boxes from the move..and I decided to cut some holes in it to make it fun for them to play in, however they completely IGNORED those boxes, and when to play in some boxes i had in the corner to throw out....

Charlie started calling dibs on his hidey holes

Charlie on the old scratching post, next to the new GIANT cat mansion haha

All 3 cats are investigating (also they're looking for the bits of dry food we placed all over the new post to get them to explore it)

They have picked out their territories. Jet all the way at the top, Charlie in the cat hammock, and Gunther by the window

Jet looks so happy and content!!! breaks my heart that I can't reach her to pet her.lol

Charlie balled up in his hammock

Day 2, exploring more of the cat mansion, you can't see Gunther but he's behind the stairs on this behemoth.

Charlie by the window

and Jet in the kitty club house (poking her cute head out)

Jet poking her head out and cooing for pets. My baby :)

These cats are so spoiled. hahah.
our cat would feel her oats if we ever got her this! Miss high and mighty.. hahah love it!

I got my cat treats! I wrapped them up in wrapping paper, and he opened them himself! He seemed quite happy.

So, what did you get for your cat(s)?

I didn't get my cat anything special this year because of financial issues, but my new neighbor bought him a couple Santa mice. He loves them!!!

Next year I'm buying him a steak for Christmas to make up for my horrible year.
