Can't find taurine or Chicken Hearts

Whole foods here in summit county stopped carrying taurine and forget about trying to find chicken hearts out here... I was wondering if I can use beef hearts instead?

Sure.... You can use beef heart..... My cats prefer Pork hearts though, if you can find. Asian Markets are the best places to find hearts, in my experience.

Beef, pork, and chicken hearts are all part of my rotation.  Variety is the spice of life! 

Absolutely you can use any heart from any animal. You can also buy various heart treats. Someone can give you the ratio (dry:wet)--over my skill level

WIll they take special orders? I special order my chicken hearts from the local whole foods, so they should be able to do it for you.

I discovered this week all the guys working the butcher's counter at whole foods know who I am from my ordering. They've even noticed the times that I shop and have started leaving out chicken backs for me so they can pack it quickly when I show up.   

Whole Foods may also be Whole Paycheck, but their customer service department is really good.

I get my chicken hearts from No Frills. Though I don't buy them regularly (the more feral members of our household regard them as a delicacy), they always do seem to have them. If you have a butcher nearby, they may be able to supply you as well.
