Hello, I have joined here in the hope somebody can offer a solution.

A couple of months ago, we used a new spot-on treatment for our cat. By the next day he was scratching the exact spot and before long he'd taking all the hair out and scratched the area raw and bloody.

Several trips to the vet, where he's been given steroid injections and antibiotics have solved nothing. He has spent the past month or two indoors with a cone around his neck, which has mostly stopped him reaching the area with his hind legs, to the point that the hair had grown back and there were only a couple of small scabs left. However last night he managed to remove the cone and we woke up to a kitchen spattered in blood and a very upset looking cat with a raw, bloody neck once again.

This whole episode has been driving the poor cat nuts and there never seems to be an end to it. Vet visits seem to only succeed in draining our bank account.

I'm hoping that somebody here is familiar with the problem and can maybe offer us a solution. Thanks in advance.

Oh my goodness..Poor Kitty!

What was the treatment you used?  It was a flea treatment?

In a case like this I would get a second opinion. Poor kitty is suffering and I can tell you second opinions have helped me numerous times.  New eyes looking at the problem can only be a good thing.

I urge you to call a different vet.  It just might be the answer.
