My cat has feline stomatitis and is taking liquid buprenorphine. I want to see how often
the shot has to be given.

If I remember correctly, it's administered via syringe into the mouth, but not injected.

My kitty who had Stomatitis was receiving the injections. It's impossible to get anything in their mouths during a severe outbreak. She got an injection
every 12 hrs.

Thanks for that clarification which makes perfect sense!  I've only used it once with a kitty who had an ulcer under her tongue and not a stomatitis flare up.

How often did your cat get that treatment everyday, once a week?

My cats had the sustained release Buprenorphine that lasted 72 hours.

How often is your vet suggesting kitty should receive a shot? lf they carry the SR Bupe, it'll be every 3 days.

l didn't. My vet gave it. The only way l've given bupe is on the gums.

Maybe you could ask the vet if there's a way to make it into a topical that you can apply to the ear.

Twice a day or every 12 hours. I am having a difficult time doing it. He is fighting it and he is normally a sweet cat.

I gave the injections. I have a diabetic feline so it was no big deal to me. You just give it under the skin. She was easy for me. I'm sorry you're having problems.

Hi

You have the syringes and needles correct? Are the syringes pre-loaded for you or do you have to draw up the amount from a bottle?

What is happening when you try to give the injection? Run through what you do start to finish when you are going to give an injection so maybe I can see where the difficulty is.
