Hello everyone out there.

I have come to this forums looking for desperate help with a current situation.

I have a two year old cat, I pick him up from the streets, almost a year ago. He is the most caring car I have ever met. He is playful like a little kitten, he often communicates he is happy, he is always making some happy around the house. He is just a marvellous cat.his name is ( latte )

I think I did a mistake 4 days ago when I rescue another cat from very bad conditions. I decided to take the kitten home who is a she (Luna) a 8 weeks baby.

My cat was very ok with it. As I kept him showing him he was the boy of the house. Two days past and he was still doing the usual. Even more cute than before. He would come to the shower with me and wait for me to get done with my shower.

The third day he was ok during the morning we took the little princess luna to the vet to get her checked out and when we came back My old cat latte was completely changed, he wouldn't talk, he wouldn't look at me, he wouldn't play with the laser beam which he would kill to play with it all the time. To the point that when he don't want to come inside I just have to take the laser on the Han and he would do anything I say. But now he just look at it and sometimes walk away. He stop eating his food, which have been 2-3 days since he had a proper bite of his food.

I have a bed which is big where have my office underneath. That's where lattes spends more of his time, if not on the desk underneath my bed he like to climb to the vet. The kitten is in that room as is my room in my student life.

So they are being forced to share an space. My old ca can go around the apartment but I am still trying to let him know this is his room eventhough now is full of the kitten needs. (food, toilet, etc)

My worries are that my old car is not eating and looks so sad. I miss my playful cat. He is the one who gives life to this student apartment.

What can I do for him to be ok and back. I got a feliway and still waiting for results

The sudden change of behavior and loss of appetite are signs that Latte is ill. Please have a vet take a look at him.

Hi @camilofer

A vet visit like @yayi said is very important, and even if it turns out to be a behavioral issue (sometimes when a cat comes back from the vet they smell differently and the resident cat reacts badly) a) that usually ends in a day or 2 and B) the lack of eating is about to turn it into another medical issue as well.  Cat that don't eat after 2 days become seriously and quickly at risk for fatty liver disease which needs aggressive treatment to save the cat's life.

Your cat must get food in him immediately or he runs the risk for this if he isn't already in this condition.

Here is a great link on the illness and a youtube video explaining syringe feeding which is likely what he needs at this point.

http://www.thecatsite.com/t/227858/syringe-feeding-lucky-video-if-your-cat-is-not-eating

He also may be dehydrated. To test this, grasp the skin behind the neck with thumb and index finger and pull back until just tight and release. It should snap back like a rubber band.  If it goes back more slowly then he is dehydrated, and the slower it sinks back them ore dehydrated he is.  If it doesn't sink back all the way at all, he is very dehydrated to a dangerous point.

It is very possible that the cat you brought in is a latent carrier of an illness and has made your cat ill.  It is very important that you seek medical attention immediately.

In addition to the vet visit, he needs food immediately and probably fluids.

Also they should be separated and the new cat evaluated as well, and must be FIV and FeLV tested before they continue to interact.  You may want to bring them both to the vet but only in separate carriers.

Hey guys.

Well, the update is that LATTE my old handsome boy is eating again. I gave him some chiken and his favourite food. I been petting him a lot and he seems to slowly come back.

Now our issue is the little one who seems to be not eating enough. The baby we rescue fr a bad pet store. We took her to the vet and there is plenty to be done. I am quiet worried as she is no bigger than an iPhone. She seems so weak and I guess anything can happen to her in any moment if we don't keep our eyes on her. She is pooping and vomiting sometimes

Thanks everyone for your reply es
