Hi...I took in my daughters outside kitty, Frank.  Well this am, he vomited up round worms and the vet confirmed it when I took them in for them to look at.

He is a new boy here.  Had him neutered through a low cost spay neuter.  Well, vet won't give meds unless I bring him in.  But she recommended Strongid and says its otc.  Cannot find it. Went to Petsmart and Pet Supplies Plus.  THey only carry Sentry.

Is Sentry any good?  I do not buy otc meds for my cats.  However, Strongid was recommended by the vet.  Not Sentry.

So any thoughts where I can get Strongid...today.  I don't want to wait to order it.  Very impatient gal!  OR thoughts on Sentry.

Thanks all!

You might be able to find Strongid at a feed store. Not sure about Sentry. I don't think it's recommended.

Not sure why he said it's OTC. . .everywhere I can find requires a prescription for brand-name Strongid. BUT, you can get generic pyrantel pamoate without a scrip. Look at a farm store (you want the 50 mg/ml suspension, not a paste) for the horse variety, or look at a human pharmacy for the kind they sell for people (it's a hookworm treatment). The smallest bottle I've ever seen is 16 oz but probably some places have an 8-oz bottle.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I actually called my long time vet and they gave me the syringe of dewormer.

Thanks again.
