Update on Muffin is he had a good day yesterday. We sat on the porch and I talked to him and loved him. He let me hold him in my lap. in doing so I was trying to check his body to see if I could feel any injuries. But I didn't. Somehow I am wondering if the vet exam triggered whatever it was that happened to him. He did do some handling his middle, etc. and I wonder now if this blood passed from his behind. I have noticed that he had his appetite stimulant on Wednesday and it never did seem to affect him. His eating has not been too good for several days. I am giving it to him first thing this morning before anything else. He is just a sweet boy. It is so hard to know what is coming.
I am going to be there with him until the end.

Oh Barb...God love you and Muffin.  So sorry to read all the updates.

I can't offer any suggestions but you all are in my prayers.  You and Muffin certainly fought the fight with all you have.  Muffin is comforted by your gentle presence.  Always there for him. I know how hard this is for you my friend.

God Bless you all.

This morning I haven't been able to get him to eat both pill pockets which have his meds in them. I think he ate all except the one with the appetite stimulant. I am still trying.:sigh:

Yes I finally did get the appetite stimulant in him. He ate some tuna this morning. I haven't yet fed him this evening. I had company come home with us after church today. We spent the after noon cooking and eating. So I am going to try him for some supper in a few minutes.

You and Muffin are constantly in my thoughts. Muffin knows you love him and are doing the best you can for him. He is certainly fighting the fight. Gosh...I know this is so hard. I don't even know what to say. I just wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Muffin is still hanging in there. Every day is a challenge to get food in him and now his medicine too. He bites the pill pockets until the makes the pills fall out. :lol3: I have to pick it up and put it in another pill pocket. He has learned. Food is still a challenge. Some days I have to feed him one piece of kibble at the time, or feed him his wet food on a spoon. I really am thinking he just wants me with him so he does that. I did discover a place on his right side where his fur is gone and a scab there. I am thinking that must be where the blood came from that I saw last Thursday morning. It does not look swollen or infected so I think it might be where either he scratched himself or Mattie did it.

Well he sure does sound like he's a loving and intelligent boy who knows how and where he gets the best  love and care, and I'm sure he knows you want to give it to him too.

I guess it's good you now know where the blood came from and that it looks like it's healing well /  not licking or scratching at it just now.  I gave Mouse some wet food the other day that he instantly liked - unheard of! Thrive Complete 100% chicken.  It's ridiculously expensive for a tiny 75g tin but it was wonderful to see my boy really enjoy something healthy for a change.  Don't know if you have ever tried it / can get it where you are?

Hi Barb :hugs:, catching up on you and Muffin. I understand what you are going through on a daily basis trying to get Muffin to eat. I remember those days with :rbheart: Wilbur - two years of it. It takes deep, deep love, dedication, perseverance, courage and faith to do what you are doing for Muffin. Just know from my experience, that you WILL know when the time has come. I kept asking HOW? WHEN? will I know. You will know.... there will be a day/time when Muffin will let you know. Live and love him in the moment right now, just as you are doing. What you are going through day to day with Muffin, your caring for him so tenderly, will be so worth it, after his time has come. You will feel peace for these special moments, the special feedings, the TLC, all of the time and love you are giving Muffin. :heart3:. That will bring you great comfort, deep in your heart, knowing that everything you are doing, right now, is because of great love. The days you have with Muffin are going to be great memories to cherish for a lifetime. I will keep on sending "stay strong" prayers. One day at a time, one moment at a time. (sorry for being TOO mushy. ;)) But, I get what you are going through and can tell you that it will be alright. :alright: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

p.s. Glad you figured out what that blood was from and that the wound it healing.

Still sending :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: and prayers for you and Muffin. I know you're going through a really hard time right now and so is Muffin. When his time comes you won't have any regrets. You'll know you did everything you could for him. It's already been said, but enjoy every precious moment you have with him. Keep hanging in there.

I am so sorry. I am sending lots of prayers and :vibes::vibes::vibes: for both you and him.

I agree with the others; you will know when it is his time. When my cat Snickers was ill with kidney failure, I didn't know what was the right thing to do. But then... The way she acted... I just knew. It was time to let her go.

I truly hope that Muffin will make a complete recovery. :vibes: Give him a nice and comfortable life before you know which way the situation will go. (HUGS)

I am very concerned right now with Muffin. It has become a real ordeal to get him to eat the pill pockets with his medicines in them. Also, He has not really eaten hardly anything for 48 hours.
He got his appetite stimulant yesterday early morning, but it has not affected his appetite any at all. I have tried about for different kinds of cat food and some sardines. He is having none of it.
I am frustrated.

Try to stay calm and keep giving him lots of love if he'll let you. Like Roxie's said, enjoy every precious moment.  Muffin has stuck with you so long and  is such a fighter with you willing him on.  We'd all be there with you if we could but hopefully some vibes can get through and give you all a little energy to keep going.

Hubby came in from outside with some shrimp. He cleaned them and we fed them raw to Muffin. After that he agreed to eat some rotisserie chicken if I hand fed it to him one piece at the time.
Between all this, I am cooking for Homecoming at church tomorrow.
