Hello all

So I was thinking of getting a female cat. I have two males now?

I am hesistant because 1) I do not want one to feel left out  and 2) Will my males gang up on my female ?

Below are my two babies :) Dexter -4 mos, and Minion- 2 mos

Oh my gosh, they are so adorable. I wouldn't think that the males won't automatically gang up on a female. Are you planning on another kitten? How well do your two males get along?

Because they are kittens, I think there will be fewer issues integrating them, but it's good to know the introduction steps and go slowly per this article.

You will have other issues having males and a female together. You will need to ensure that the female gets spayed before she comes into heat for the first time to ensure that there are no pregnancies.

From having had female cats before, remember that it isn't ALWAYS obvious for some females when they do go in to heat, and they can start going in to heat at different ages. It might be safer for her if you went for a lightly older female kitten so she has been spayed before moving in with you - possible having to be closer to the age of your older kitten?

By the way, your boys are SO cute! They look very cheeky.

Is it true that if she is not spayed that the males will attack her. i keep going on this "attack" thing because my friend told me it and it scared me.

Well, if she is over 2 pounds, she is old enough to spay, so your best bet would be to have her spayed before you bring her into your household.

I'm not sure what you mean by "attack." Attack is in try to kill her or try to mate with her? I don't think the males will try to attack her to kill her if they are properly introduced, and they are too young to be sexually mature enough to try to mate. If you spay her before bringing her in, problem solved.

Awww such cuties!!! I think a female would be a nice matriarch and if around the same age they should be fine. Just try to bring her in spayed.

I'd schedule an appointment for a spay today. Now. Call as soon as your vet's office opens, lol.

I had two males and a female from the same litter. The boy matured a little earlyish at five months (if six is the average, through really, they can go as early as four months!)... I cut it close, and it was a mistake! Luckily, she didn't get pregnant, because I think SHE wasn't in heat yet. But I caught him mounting her a few times... or trying to, hahaha. There are analogies I could make to young human boys, but I'll hold my tongue. ;)

Anyway, he did wrestle with her a bit, but it looked more like playing than anything. In fact, I didn't realize it WASN'T playing until she started yelping a little bit and kicking him off. She wasn't in pain, and he never hurt her. It was just an annoyance!

So to answer your question, no, they won't attack her. But you DO need to get her spayed, because kittens can mature as early as about four months. They can also get pregnant by more than one male at a time. These are things you don't want!

Your babies are adorable, though, and at this age, I'm sure they'll welcome a new little girl quite easily! :)

I would either wait for the boys to be fixed or bring in a fixed girl. Even if shea fixed you can't slack on fixing a male as they will spray
