My 15 year old cat Chip has been going to the bathroom outside for 14 years. Just recently I discovered he has been peeing in my bedroom closet on my clothes, and pooped on my bed. Just 45 mins ago I caught him peeing in our living room on a table cloth on the floor. I love my buddy and I don't punish him or cause him any stress. My brother has a cat in the house as well. A 2 year old Maine coon. Idk wat to do :( heeeellp I don't wana have to put down my 8th birthday present :(

Aw, so sorry Chip is having problems. I highly suggest a vet visit for your little fella. He needs to have a senior panel of blood and urine labs run by a vet to rule out health issues. This can be a sign of kidney problems, diabetes, or any number of health issues. It's his way of telling you that something is wrong. Having him put down because of this should not even be on your radar. He's getting older and needs your help to figure this out.

Thank you, I gota work up some money first :/ I was thinking he's been taking a territorial stand against the other cat. The Maine coon named Raven has peed in the same room downstairs in the clothes. Not in my closet tho. I took my buddy to the vet a few months ago cuz he was literally licking open a wound that was on his back. But I fixed that issue myself.

This sounds kindve crazy, but is it possible to re pottytrain chip with a litter box? Would he use it? A couple years ago he got in a fight with a coyote and got a mean puncture wound in his side. So we had to keep him inside for a little while so he could heal. We gave him a litter box filled with playground sand in the basement and didn't seem to mind using it. Now we have a baby in the house so I wana be smart and use litter. I don't know how he's gona react to it. He hasn't used kitty litter in a little over 14 years.
