We brought you and your brother home as 4 month olds in November 2011. Your name was Tucker, but we referred to you as Nips, because you and Roland were taken away from your mama too early and you suckled yourself. He suckled blankets. After a few months you outgrew your suckling issue and were the sweetest, most loving, wonderful kitten ever. Every night you slept on daddy's stomach and every day you followed us from room to room avoiding Roland who wanted to groom you every second of every day because he loved you so much.
Our other cats loved you too. You were the calm one in the center of your rambunctious brothers and sisters. You were the one they wanted to hang out with.
I don't know why, but your middle initial was B. and that's what we ended up calling you. When we got home every day, we called each cat and when we got to you it was, "Beeeeeeeeee." And you came running and jumped up onto my chest where you'd stay all day if I didn't have to get up.
I love you so much.
A couple of weeks ago I noticed that you weren't eating as much of your canned food as usual, but you were eating the dry stuff so I wasn't worried. Daddy and I went on vacation for a week, and when we got home last night you looked bad. I was told that you'd been eating but your fur looked limp and there was no light in your eyes. I made an appointment for you first thing this morning.
OMG, Bee, you had FIP. The vet pulled lots of fluid off of your belly and you had a lot of mucous in your mouth. You had a heart murmur that was new, and a fever. The vet told me gently that you probably had a couple of weeks at best.
I love you Bee. We knew that we couldn't let you linger in pain and discomfort, so we helped you leave us.
I love you Bee, and I'm sorry that you only got one year of life. Run free my sweet pea, you gorgeous boy.
