Shaved neck

I'm not complaining, just wondering. When Sasha got his blood work done two weeks ago, the vet shaved his neck. She said it was so she could find his jugular vein where she drew the blood from. Is this common?

Yes, totally common, it's perfectly normal :-)

Yep, when warrented, mine always come home with a shaved neck.

I hope it grows back soon. He's still cute.

We took Hannah to the vet on Thursday and they drew blood, but didn't shave her neck, and they drew it from her neck. I thought that was kinda strange since our other cat, Callie, always comes home with a shaved neck when blood is drawn.

Yep, completely normal - when Pete came home from his PU surgery, his neck was shaved. 1.5 weeks in a kennel at the vet's office leading up to the surgery basically forced the surgeon to draw from the jugular vein. The shaved neck is really only noticeable now when his head is to the side and you can clearly see the lack of fur.
