Our male Charlie has found a surefire way to get me up: I have sleep apnea and he turns my CPAP machine off! The power button is on the top of the unit and he simply steps on it to turn it off. If for some reason this does not get the desired result, he will turn it back on after waiting a few moments. This on/off cycle continues until he gets a response!

I tried covering the machine so he could not access the button, but it took him almost no time to figure out how to remove the cover. Needless to say, my wife really enjoys watching this routine!

I just had to laugh at this
I hope Riley doesn't try that next!

Xander doesn't bother me in the mornings and is usually content to just lay on the bed until I get up. Riley has a variety of things he does in rotation. He changes his routine every 2 weeks when it stops working

He will lay on the pillow and stare are me, occasionally pawing at my hair. He'll do this for a couple weeks, then switch.

He jumps on the dresser and repetitively sticks his paw in the change jar, which makes a horrible noise
*ching, ching, ching*

He'll jump on the shelf next to the bed and knock off my cell phone, any clothes that might be sitting there, whatever is handy.

He'll sit next to the bed and meow. He meows once, then moves to the other side of the bed, waits a minute or two, meows again, the moves back to the other side. (He learned this after I started rolling over and ignoring him)

Those are the main ones. He will do one every morning for 1-2 weeks, then switch to a different one. Such a silly boy

My girls don't usually bother me much, but Pete starts in as soon as he knows I'm awake. First he stands on me and sticks his nose in my eyes. That usually gets me up. If not, he lays down on the pillow, braces his feet against my head and pulls my hair. That always works.

Pete stalks us until one of us is awake - at which time he kneads the bladder of whichever poor person opened their eyes first, making sure to use all 20 lbs. of his weight behind him. I've faked being asleep to delay the bladder knead-a-thon

What I want to know is how they always know, just where your full bladder is?
My Smokey (R.I.P.) was great at jumping right on my bladder EVERY morning. She was only 7 lbs, I don't think I'd be able to hold my bladder if a 20 lb cat were messing with me.

Harvey has become very clever. Other than the incisive talking/rubbing he's come up with a sure fire way of getting me up. I set me cellphone (which I use for an alarm) and my glasses on the bedside table. After the first alarm goes off and I grumpily turn it off and roll back over Harvey will go and knock both my glasses and my cellphone off. Thus when my second alarm goes off I go to turn it off and have to search for my glasses (blind as a bat without them) and get to my phone. He usually knocks them under the bed so I actually have to get out of bed to find them. And tada! Momma is awake and the other two join Harvey demanding love and breakfast.

What do your furkids do?
right before the alarm goes off, Delilha jumps on me, and will not stop until i get up.
if i don't get up then, she gets under the covers and purrs so loud, it wakes me up.

Haha these are great! My Mischa will knead my face and then bite my nose until I get up or bury my face in the pillow. One of my fosters sits on my head and meows--luckily he is still small...

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Haha these are so funny. The cats aren't the ones that wake us up in the morning. Generally I've got to get up cuz the dog wants out but its pretty hard to make a 20 lb cat move his tubby butt so I can get out of bed. Fatman will make it so impossible for me to get out of bed that I've had to shimmy out the bottom of the bed haha. And once I'm out of the bed he moves to my spot so there's no going back to bed for me. Gigi is normally at bfs feet passed out and herc hasn't been sleeping with us lately. He is normally in the cat condo or on the couch where noone can bother him.

On the rare occasion we let Nora sleep in the bedroom with us (which doesn't usually happen b/c she likes to wake up at about 5am which is an hour before I have to get up on a weekday and about 5 hour before on the weekend, and I need that extra sleep) she likes to just lay on my face and suffocate me until I wake up. That or she just YELLS at us until one of us gets fed up and lets her out. We sleep with the door closed, so she gets locked in when she sleeps with us. When she gets let out the door gets closed behind her and we go back to sleep. There is NO playing at 5am.

This morning I was subjected to incessant kneading and tromping on my belly. Not wise when meowmy has been nauseous.

Sometime between 5 and 7am I am subjected to four little paws trying to dig, dig, dig me out of bed... Depending on when she gets hungry I think. Try explaining to her that its Saturday, you don't have to get up to go to work and you ahve a hang over due to partying with colleagues til midnight the night before.

Omg, my boy Jo-Jo will cry like a baby and jump on my bed and sit directly on my chest and knead his paws(with claws) right in my throat. He will do this until i get out of the bed. He is basically the first thing i see in the morning face to face. Lol.......

Eyvan used to try to wake me up but I found that when I would give him gentle taps on the nose he would go away and let me sleep. Now I MOSTLY
get to sleep undisturbed, however he has some kind of weird cat power that lets him know the second I begin to wake up. In a half stupor I'll hear the thump as he leaps from whatever perch he has been on and then the jingle, jingle of his collar as he trots excitedly down the hall. If I try to go back to sleep, he lays down on top of me just below my neck and purrs at decibels it's hard to believe cats can reach.

I get stared at. Moose sleeps with me all night and he will reposition himself and glare at me. Rocky jumps up on the bed and sits next to my head, his eyes boring a hole into me. Lucy stays on the floor letting her brothers do all the work!

Mattie will sit on the bed next to your face and stare at you until you wake up. Sometimes (rarely), she'll lick your face or your arm really quick.

Chloe uses a variety of methods. She likes to attack feet. She likes to lick your face. She likes to lick your hair. She's pretty persistent.

I don't know what Henry does because we've never made it through a whole night with him. He has to stay in his own room at night.

Roxy does a variety of things to wake me up, depending on what she wants.
This morning she was awake just before 6, and she was running around my bedroom, jumping on to a paper bag and rustling around!

As I live in a shared house, the litter tray has to be in my bedroom
, so she's discovered that meowmy has no choice but to get out of bed if she uses the litter tray and makes an almighty smell!

This morning she just got in the litter tray and rustled around, still got me up though!

If she's hungry she walks round in circles by my bedroom door, doing little "meep meep" meows!

Lately she's been waking me up in the middle of the night kneading my hair.

Funny because Shane doesn't even wake me up, he gets in the bed with me when ever I'm it the bed. I don't even have to be sleep, but he'll get in the bed and just lay down. I think I've been up watching TV and on the net now for about 6 hours and Shane ONLY moved when I got up...other then that he just sleeps. I'm sooo glad, I do not need another alarm clock!
