What problems does this poop point to

Those two possibilities could certainly be responsible but it's more concerning when he's also not eating and acting like himself. I'd watch him today and see how he does but if this were me and my kitten, I'd be calling the vet tomorrow morning if all of the issues haven't resolved.

    Oral mass

Biopsy results update! The tumor is benign! Orville has an odontogenic fibroma. Although it's not cancerous and it's slow growing, he's being referred to a feline oncologist to discuss treatment options to tackle the bit of the tumor his regular vet wasn't able to remove so it doesn't continue...

    Oral mass

Latest update: Orville had surgery yesterday to have the broken tooth extracted and the mass removed. Sadly once the doctor took x-rays and actually started to remove the mass, she's now quite concerned we ARE dealing with oral cancer. She's leaning toward the possibility of osteosarcoma, but we...

    Oral mass

Thank you so much for the reply. Quick update: We saw Orville's vet today and she said the appearance and location of the mass aren't what she would expect for oral cancer, but we can't rule anything out based on that alone. She did say we could try an FNA but it wouldn't be our definitive...

    Oral mass

Has anyone had a cat with an oral mass that turned out to be benign? Looking for a little bit of hope here after reading so many horror stories. Background: I took my cat Orville in for emergency care a couple of weeks ago for some GI issues, and while he was there the vet discovered a mass in...

    Diarrhea, vomit, decreased appetite

Thought I'd pop in and provide an update. I waited the two days they advised to wait, but on that second day following his urgent care visit, Orville was still not eating or drinking and was still lethargic. Took him in for an ultrasound, it didn't reveal the source of the problem. They sent him...

    Diarrhea, vomit, decreased appetite

Three days ago my cat Orville refused his dinner after being inactive all day, and I took him to the ER yesterday after the diarrhea and vomiting started on day #2. They did a full blood panel and she said it all looked great (although his “PLT” and “EOS” values were flagged as low on the...

Kitten and older cat success stories?

Hi all. My kitty Winston passed unexpectedly in December. Our other cat, Orville, is 10 and he always loved being around Winston. He is very playful and still quite energetic despite his age (we’ve always called him our “perma-kitten”). I’ve always had two cats and my heart is feeling ready for...

    Bowel obstruction or something else?

Hey all, thought I’d provide an update here. We ended up back at the vet the same evening after I posted this because Winston had declined terribly throughout the day. They did additional x rays and an ultrasound and found a bad intussusception of his intestines that would have required removing...

    Bowel obstruction or something else?

There was gas in his gut. She said his colon didn't look like she would expect if he had an obstruction but that additional x-rays after a couple of days if no improvement might show something different. She didn't even mention an ultrasound, and IBS/IBD were not brought up.

    Bowel obstruction or something else?

Hi all. My boy Winston (11) was at the vet over the weekend with some symptoms I'll outline below, and they did x rays to check for a bowel obstruction but they were inconclusive so they gave him fluids and sent him home with probiotics and antibiotics. I'm calling again today but in the...

    Gabapentin tolerance

Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone has or has had a cat on Gabapentin long term who can talk to me about tolerance. After starting on the medication, did your cat become tolerant to it and need the dosage increased? If so, how long was it before the first dosage increase and how often did you have...

    Feline Absence Seizures

Thank you, this is all great information to consider!

    Feline Absence Seizures

Gosh, it’s so hard to tell. I’ll have to watch him extra closely to see, but it would almost make sense because at times he relentlessly and violently attacks Winston, and other times he’s cool as a cucumber. There’s no consistency or pattern to what will set him off, but the attacks always seem...
