Why do torties have curly tails? (general cat breed question)

The cats at my local petsmart are often very sick and jasmine arrived sick as well, (i think they came from a breeder but i cant remember) I have heard other things about PetSmart and PetCo that aren't too good but that's off topic and who knows- I could just be unlucky. They were all personal...

Why do torties have curly tails? (general cat breed question)

ah ok! Since all my cats are domestic short hairs I wasn't sure if the coloration made a connection or not, interesting. I had (what I think is, based off of just now googling dilute tortie) a dilute tortie a long time ago named Misty and she had a normal tail too. My current and previous...

Why do torties have curly tails? (general cat breed question)

I have been wondering about tortie tails for years now since i've always had 2 or more cats in the house. One being a tortie and the other being a tabby of many kinds. The tabbies always had normal tails, but the tortoiseshells would always carry their tails above their back, unfortunately...

Is bringing your cat to college a bad idea?

Thank you very much. All of these points are definitely going to help me in my decision on if it's viable for me to take her.

Is bringing your cat to college a bad idea?

My parents want me to bring my cat with me to college after my freshman year if I could afford to live in a separate apartment or something like that. Now I am having second thoughts. My cat is very anxious and I'm not sure how well she would do if she moved, especially into a smaller home. I...

    (nearly) 2-year unsolvable urinating issue

Is there any chance that she is starting toward constipation again? No, not really. She's pooping and peeing fine. Whatever came of the urinalysis/urine culture for checking to a UTI? The veternarain concluded nothing. No UTI. No infection, no cause for constipation. We have no idea what...

    (nearly) 2-year unsolvable urinating issue

She has begun to pee again. Scraping away pee pads to pee again. She has 2 litterboxes, one upstairs and one downstairs. Not that it would matter, since she used to have a box in the area she peed and ignored it. The only thing I can do right now is: - get sticky pads and take her out side...

    (nearly) 2-year unsolvable urinating issue

Jasmine is doing okay lately. She is only using one litterbox, but she has not peed outside of it since her vet visit. She's happy and energetic again, actually meowing more than usual. Sad to not know what caused her constipation, but glad it's over.

    (nearly) 2-year unsolvable urinating issue

Ok Big update: The bloated abdomen was simply constipation. She got back from the vet yesterday and we don't know what caused her constipation because they didn't really tell us anything. We researched the anxiety meds she was taking and ended up researching the wrong ones, so they may or may...

    (nearly) 2-year unsolvable urinating issue

More bad news: Today, (3/26) we took Jasmine to the vet (as an emergency visit). She hasn't peed since Wednesday, and the vet said she has a VERY full bladder, and constipation. There is no room left in her abdomen. (they did an X-ray) We are assuming the medication we gave her caused this, as...

    (nearly) 2-year unsolvable urinating issue

Update: Has not peed in the pellet box, however, she hasn't peed on the carpet! Bad News: she just started wailing, looking all around the house for a place to pee, until we walked her to the litterbox, she cried aloud, and peed in the litterbox (i had to put her inside so she did not run away)...
