Chronic loose stools in 7 month old kitten

She prescribed the gastro diet with no mention of an exclusion diet. I had no idea there were gastro specialists for animals. That will be my next step if the other ideas I try from this thread don't work. Thanks for your suggestions!

Chronic loose stools in 7 month old kitten

The one the vet prescribed is Proviable Forte but thus far after a month, I see no improvement.

Chronic loose stools in 7 month old kitten

My kitten, Zander was treated at 5 months old for a salmonella infection. He was very ill. Since the antibiotics he really bounced back. Since then though his stools have not been well formed. He was put on a special gastro diet (very expensive and hard to feed him separate wet an dry), and...

    Newly neutered male personality change

Zander is better! I took him to the vet and had him treated for a possible salmonella infection. He is on antiobiotics and is now eating and perking up. My only problem now is with his diarrhea associated with the meds. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. Thanks!

    Newly neutered male personality change

8 days ago I had my sweet, playful kitten Zander neutered at the same time his sister Zoey was spayed. Where Zoe seems more active than ever post surgery, poor little Zander doesn't want to play anymore and sleeps most of the time. He has also lost some weight. I don't see any signs of...

    Kitten not thriving

So sad to say that we lost Stripe. She just was not rallying even with increased feedings and seemed a bit miserable. I have been beating myself up for not doing more, but perhaps this was more of an issue of being premature. Anyway- it is what it is. I am at the moment just trying to find...

    Kitten not thriving

More questions and news about Stripe. She is up from 11oz. to 11.7 oz in three days' time. I thought with the feedings 4-5 daily) she would be more active but she virtually holds still and sleeps most of the time usually cuddled by her mom or littermates but sometimes by herself. I'm trying...

    Kitten not thriving

I've been putting goat milk in there well. She takes food willingly but is still very lethargic and sleeps most of the time- not much meat on those little bones. I'm hoping in time she will get more active? Today I'm going to increase the frequency of her feedings.

    Kitten not thriving

Update on Stripe. I took her to the vet yesterday after feeding her turkey baby food mixed with raw goat milk in the 2 days in between the appointment. She confirmed her preemie status but gave little Stripe a clean bill of health- except for the complication of possible liver disfunction...

    Kitten not thriving

I thought she might be a "preemie" in that regard. The mom is a feral but fairly friendly cat that adopted us a 2 1/2 months back, and of course preggie and a teen mom at that. We did not see the kittens until one month old and at that time "Stripe" was only a bit smaller than the rest. Mom...

    Kitten not thriving

She is not eating wet food at all like her littermates who are chowing it down. She weighs in at 11 oz. Another kitten weighed in at 1 lb 7 oz. Right now all she wants to do is nurse. She looks more like a month old kitten. I tried a bit of high-quality wet kitten food on my finger but she...
